Camo

Camo is a poet/mc-promoter who originally hails from Cape Town. He is the executive producer for the 5th Floor, he also provides platforms for other forms of urban-art expression within his immediate community.

He’s been active on the hip hop scene producing as well as co-ordinating events like Re:gen Festival, Sole Position to name a few…

Currently he’s promoting Party People Cape Town for Imago Entertainment who’ve had the honour of hosting both local & abroad acts…

He is tentatively working on a solo EP and is also the man behind both “Attention To Detail” & “Sex & Revolution”.
The Cape Town based musician has shared platforms with artist world wide. The caliber ranges from artists like Jean Grae, Blu & Exile, People Under The Stairs, John Robinson, Dead Prez, Black Thought & Talip Kweli of the The Black August Month through to outfits like Bongo Muffin & Freshly Ground.
The presence of Camo musically has been felt on the 5th Floor debut album single called Creation with Korianda which was also a single on the national Silvertab & African Dope Sessions compilation… He’s also an MTN Hype Magazine award nominee for best group on the Sex & Revolution album.

Mingus

Mingus a.k.a. X the 24th Letter, is a Jozi (Johannesburg) born Capetonian. His early childhood is based in a small township in Cape Town called Guguletu.

He found Hip Hop at an early age and immediately fell in love with it.

At present, Mingus is a well respected figure in South African Hip Hop. He is the founding member of the Writers Block crew (a group of MC’s, DJ’s and Producers), Metaphysical Misfits and Cape Town’s soulful Hip Hop band, Mingus & The Goodfellas.

Also, Mingus has shared the stage with some of Hip Hop’s finest like Blu & Exile, Blumentopf (German Hip Hop crew), Wordsworth, Qwazaar,Vast Aire (Cannibal Ox), Akil The MC (Jurassic 5), Trey from the Pharcyde, People Under The Stairs, DJ Babu, John Robinson, Asheru and theBoot Camp Click and has performed in many music festivals from Cape Town to Sweden.

Mingus recently released his first official solo album called, “Beneath The Underdog”. This was an independent release and a project he’s been working on since 2007 after returning from Germany and Sweden. On the project Mingus gathered all his friends from Germany, Sweden, the U.S. and South America. The album is a highly jazz influenced album. It is approached this way because he felt that this is the path he has to take in order to reach the pinnacle of his musical journey.
