Hola my peoples...
let's talk 'eduhightenedvisionmissions'
Which book(s) are u reading OR what was the last book u read?
1. THIS IMMORTAL by ROGER ZELAZNY
2. THE ORIGINS OF AFRICAN CIVILIZATION (MYTH OR REALITY)
by CHEICK ANTA DIOP
:x :x :x

Have not read an entire book for about 3 moths now.
tried to read Mamdani's Good muslim, bad muslim but decided to drop it for more important things.
currently reading chapters from joseph Stiglitz'z "the Roaring nineties". fascinating
+
chapters from South Africa: A history of inequlaity by Sampie Terblanche. looks at how inequality was produced in SA over decades.
The next book I read will be either the Meaning of Mandela (edited by Xolela magcu). It contains writings by Cornel West and Henry Gates JNR(arguably two of the US' most eminent intellectuals today) + Wole Sonyika
or Kebble: a life by Barry sergeant. It will depend on my state of mind. If i want something exciting, i'll definately get the book about Brett Kebble, if i want something light, yet interesting, I'll get the meaning of Mandela.
Earlie this year i read:
2 books by Michael Moore (Stupid white men and dude, where's my country). hilarious way of writing about serious issues.
Open Society by George Soros

It's mad interesting...a simple breakdown of it would be: orbserving, analysing, questioning & answering questions on the origins of African nations and tribes, our evolvement from the first men, to homosapiens to modern men, our beliefs, our gods, the connections and communications we had with the cosmos and telepathic travel to other planets...
My favourite thing about Diop is his ability to inexcusably dismiss the typical misconceptions, stereotypes & smokescreens while attempting to provide some reasonable explanations based on well-researched evidence. It's an African scholar's attempt to make African cradle question their so-called history & fill them in on the wisdom of the ancients ...quite enlightening!
@ Naturelle
I'll pa** it on to u as soon as i'm finished...i'm not far from it
