If you plan to get rich, DO NOT RAP FOR A LIVING.
Alot of these industry cats are broke man. I was given the truth about these people not too long ago. Oh my gosh 8O
I got love for this rap ish. But EDUCATION will get my blaq a** paid.
KNOW THE TRUTH!!!!
-
correction, underground hip hop does not pay
-
^^ lemmie guess you are about show em how its done?
-
okay if you arent educated then yes you wont get far
but look at it like this, if you can make your own beats, make your own album at a minimal cost, aswell as your video's, all you'll need then is a distribution deal and you sell your album to distributers, once you have the distribution deal set you can make 1000 discs for R12000 and your distributers will buy them and you'll make about R30 000 - R40 000 profit on each 1000 discs something like that, or get endorsement for your product and your expenses will be minimized more, you just have to know the business side, alot of underground artists dont look at the business side cause thats not keeping it real, and thats why they stay real broke
-
who told u that underground catz aint doing exactly that.............i will tell u one thing little boy u so f***ing deluded.
-
thing is most underground cats hold a mind set. its not that peoples dont wanna blow up and get paid off their effort, its that peoples are are more maternal to the culture, and feel whats produced, written, executed by them stays with them for them if that makes any sense. peeps dont want 3%off every sale...sure comercial cats get more for the shows they do, but thats just to lubricate their rectums a little more for the next dick.
not many heads got 12000 to print their own shit either, but i agree that you gotta start some where. even if you only pushing 20 albums a week that you printed on your boys pc, you still making more money on sales in a week than them cheese balls on the radio. some people have no better options than to rap, some peoples no nothing but to rap, eat sleep pisss, drink and shit rap, and if you good at it who the f*** cares.
each to his own. if the ambition is there and the soldiers are mobilzed accordingly it will innevitably manifest into something bigger.
make the people aware.. underground underground blah blah blah.
if you dope people will buy your shit.
dont sign your blood sweat and tears just cos it sounds like a reasonable option.
one root for underground dudes to look into is a joint venture through a major, wich entitles you to fifty percent of every thing sold once the costs of the label have been recouped. you keep your master and basically what ever you contribute they match and vice versa. and if you dont have the doe and they think it is a worth while risk, they will endure the innicial cost of printing and promotion. the dope thing with that is that you are not bound to the label and still have the freedom to print your own shit on the side aswell as scout internation distribution if you so feel fit. so if you release one album and push it hard as f*** and get them tongues wagging, by the time you ready to release your 2nd joint it will give you the oppertunity to think obout taking that root...i dunno just a thought
...or not....

i MIGHT SUPPORT, but not if you're on the beats and the guy from that one track you posted is on the mic.
If that is the case, I'd rather spend my money on beer.
