wanna major in Cello and musicology (wanna eventually do research in kwaito)...know nothing about studying music but was quite dismayed to find that nothing has been written/documented on kwaito...i think it makes for hella substantive subject matter.
thanks guys!

The music school at UCT is the best in SA...I was gonna do their diploma in jazz studies.
to get in u have to play grade 8 ABRSM or grade 8 UNISA cello, and u gonna have to pa** an audition too...
as far as i kno, those are different courses of study...u cant major in cello and musicology.its either a musicology degree or a cello performance degree
abt the kwaito thing...I know research has been done on it at UCT, but musically theres not much to say...the research would have to be more sociology/anthropology
good luck...hope i helped
