Title: Test your Talent
Post by: The Kritik on March 03, 2008, 05:34:53 PM
here is a sample called 'something' by Al Green....i sampled this track and y'all free to copy and listen to....its within the beat section, its called "Al Green sampled' or something lik that.
anyways, the main idea here is to let you hav the sample and see wat you can come out wit....and then kats can rate us on who's got the sampling skill locked.
feel free do add in effects bt stik to the sample.

Nice sample, ama post what I dun created soon, 30 seconds's to short to come up with variations of the beat. It wud be fun if cats wud post they shit so we can see how many possible variations can be derived from tha sample of such length

I wont disagree wit you bt i did state that it hasnt been mixed.....the idea here is on the sampling and wat 'U' can do wit the same sample...(get it!)
I jst started on a new beat using the same sample as i  had promised i would do...its on progress except that i havent had time to get on it since yesterday....been writing tests.

ya, was lazy, but the next one ill make sho i chop it nice. When is the next, someone post another sample on a new thread, that is if this one is exhausted. Im ready when y'all are.

And BTW, what programs were y'all using? I used Cubase rewired to Reason. But the next one will be 100% Reason. And for y'all who do use reason, NNXT or Dr.Rex? Hola!

Layering my friend....layering!

I always use 2 types of snares that can give the track a crackle...thats one secret I can give out for now, the rest is high level info! Thanx for the look up...I suggest that if you're mixing, pan your sound to space out...atleast thats what I learnt, and make sure all drums a monofied. All highs (eg. 2x hats=pan 30-40%, shakes, etc.)....extra info will need you to PM.

PS -  I usually upload just mixed or raw trax, so ppl dont have to think thats what they'll get from end-product.

This is just my opinion...the chopping could have sounded more nicer with different drum programming and maybe tempo....but that tempo is still gud...

WORD OF ADVISE: PPL MUST STOP ASKING FOR FEEDBACK... LET US GET HIGH WIT DRUGS U ON...LETS GET BLUNTED 2GETHER...BUT IF S#IT IS CRAP...U DAMN GON GET THE AG VERDICT!!

THIS IS COMING FROM A NON SMOKER...BRING MORE HEAT FOR THE MIXTAPE!

Maybe I shud start off...then w8 for Tuesday for brand new trax...2-4! All will be in AG mixtape folder to be vote for usage!
