Bow Wow Calls It Quits
May 23rd, 2008 | Author: Omar Burgess
After entering the rap game at the age of 13 under the tutelage of Jermaine Dupri and Snoop Dogg, Bow Wow has decided to bow out of the Hip Hop game and focus on acting. Over the last several years Bow Wow, whose real name is Shad Gregory Moss, has seen his acting resume increase with roles in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Roll Bounce and the upcoming films Patriots and Driving Lessons.

"After 16 years in the music industry and six successful albums, I've decided to shift my energy to something else I'm pa**ionate about, acting," Bow Wow tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm going to try to be the next Will Smith." Since the rapper-turned-actor is 21, his reference of "16 years" likely includes his 1992 appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show at the age of 5.

Prior to his announcing his decision, Bow Wow began recording material for his seventh album, H.I.M. (History In the Making). The album is expected to be released late in 2008, and Bow Wow would not definitively state if it would be his last. In the meantime, Bow Wow will take a recurring role in the upcoming season of HBO's Entourage. Bow Wow will be cast as Charlie, a stand-up comic who is a client of Kevin Connoly's character Eric Murphy

if yall followed the work of rappers like LL Cool J,Mase,Diddy,Fabolous,Will Smith, yall wud realise that BOw Wow is a young LL and a great part of hiphop.

I think Bow got a great talent and his music is important cos it connects the ladies with a male dominated hiphop game.

My cred has nothin to do with anything here! Bow wow has 5 albums! 4 highly successful, and he has been groomed by the Legendary Jermaine Dupri!

I didnt say he's the greatest Underground/battle mc or conscious rapper.....then ud be able to question my cred ;)

but as a pre-teen to teen to young grown market, he's a legend! He went thru 3 different markets, grew as an actor, stayed relevant for 10+ yrs and has shown good business sense in his ventures into the corporate world.

I think he's a role model.
I also wana get into acting and other things.

People throw the words legend and genius around so lightly nowadays.

What the f*** has Blaf Blaf done to make him a legend? The only legendary thing he's accomplished in my eyes was hooking up with Ciara.

I thought I already cleared this up.

I hate it when people can't distinguish between reality and internet urban legends. I bet you believed the one about the Arab girl who was buried alive and Jesus came and rescued her, now her whole village has turned christian too.

I know. The problem is that its actually impossible nowadays to have a decent convo with anyone wothout them mentioning some retarded shit that they read in an email or on some website and believe it to be true.

Teh Ciara thing is only one of them. Whenever someone starts talking this kind of shit it just makes me wanna punch them in the throat.
Too bad society frowns on this kind of social education.

uh huh, this from the same bow wow who called Will smith "a gimmick"
or verbatim (on Will): ”He was more like a gimmick. Then he zapped in to get a TV show, and it was on and poppin’. Then after that he was in Hollywood.... With me, I’m a rapper. I ain’t with the whole colorful cornball type things. That’s just not my style.”

I was QOUTING bow wow.

in literature, inverted commas (“…..”) can generally be used to indicate that one is quoting the words of another. Nevermind the word verbatim and the semi-colon after that and…  ??? I try so hard with them but..
