ive been to these joints quite a bit but i never really get exposed to what exactly is going on cause all my homies want to go to house clubs and i really dont know the towns that well.
where should i be going and on what days to check out what these areas offer in terms of performances open mics etc

Invest in a good pair of headphones then go to the house gigs. I've done that a few times.

I know that there is always something going down in Cape Town.
In Joburg you can go to Party people once a month.
I chill at Berlin on Sunday nights. Then there are always sessions all over, which I don;t go to, but they are there. Ask around.

Nastie.Ed, JDL Quake and teh Alvinator are playing at 27 Buitenkant opposite the Cape Town Police Station, Saturday 6 September from 8pm.
There is no charge at the door and you can BYOB, some beer will be on tap for R10 a pint.

Yo ree, there's Hip hop galore in both places. If you're in Jo'burg head over to our resident gig guide Ozmic @ the ritual store and you'll be sure to catch the lates underground hip hop or soul sessions...C.T?

i say jozi rocks. there are tight mceez there, sick a**holez that can destroy your dreams of becoming a rapper dude. not sure about cape town. the only cats iv ever heared are those cats who rap in afrikaans. they kinda suck
