Great interview. Tech is one of the few rappers who can not only express himself eloquently outside of a musical context, but actually present ideas which have been thought through and which have been interrogated.

But can we judge him purely based on this interview? His music and his personality on the mic is very different to what we see here. Is it a combo of the two, or is either side only showing one part of him?

i think it's a combination of the two. art is looser in terms of how you present your ideas and sentiments while with politics it's best to be concise, with little rhetoric and emphasis on facts.

watching this, i think the cat is maturing. do you think he'll get to a point where the activism takes over from rap? pull an Arundhati Roy, so to speak.

Yes, in a word. He won't be a rapper forever, though he'll probably go on longer than most; but he won't ever stop being politically active.

Yea Immortal Technique is one of the dopest mcs ever, but I like him much better in this interview. In most of his tracks he just comes across as very arrogant to me. But still a great mc.
