Title: Mixtapes...2005
Post by: Malcom E.K.K.S on January 08, 2005, 06:29:00 PM
2004 saw quite a number of mixtapes, and some in the making, dropping this year, hopefully.
My question is, why do a mixtape?, most big names in the industry drop a mixtape b4 there albums drop, more like to promote their album.
My point being, cats need to drop more comprehensive tracks, they should cater for the non heads out there!. They are the ones who usually cop beats. Not to say peeps need to sell out, but yo! how about dropping conscious stuff yet, comprehensive...  to every jack  and Jill.
Coz this world of ours is just gettin´ effed up nowadays and I bekieve hiphop can be the torch used to help those in the dark.
Just a thought, might be lunny but what ya´ll think?

U misunnerstand man, it does not hav a beat on it, it is a discussion on yo topic of why cant we as peeps who make and hopefully live hip hop, produce stuff witch we can use to grow the movement by attractin the ignorant ma**es.

As to examples of such hip hop, wait just a bit, Maddstone and meself are doin sum tracks witch can illustrate my point in the next two weeks, we will subject these pieces to scrutiny, so all the "unnergrounders" who bliev in an exclusive and stagnant type of hip hop can get bizzy sharpenin their knives.

Yeah man, dats what i´m talkin´ about. Whats the point of making tracks if people who really need ´em ´ll find it hard to decipher the hielogrifix.....
Sometimes cats is just too deep they end up getting lost in they own thoughts ( like Drastik said).

No doubt.I agree with that and that that Draztik said.Peeps sometimes just try to be too hard and deep for their own good, its pretty sad.I´m not judging, just saying.Glad other peeps, like u Ekks, r open to changing the rules and mixing things up to open a whole new world for ppl.Props for that thinking and big ups to Syn.

when talking of mixtapes I hope you are referring to those which dj´s do.  traditionally if there´s no dj on your "mixtape" then it´s not a mixtape but a compilation.

the people who work at the Woodstock post office only earn about R250 per week so rather use a white envelope.  green envelopes might give them ideas....

ag you know maybe it´s just because of the holiday season, I´ll check the postbox this week and let you know as soon as I get it! :-]
