Title: J-Bux Life Skills Dirty Underground Version
Post by: MrLebese on April 08, 2005, 10:01:14 AM
Hey

about 2 years ago J-Bux was at my crib and we knocked this track out just for the hell of it.  I did the beat, he did the verses.  Unfortunately I don't have good equipment, just used a Senheisser mic, plugged it into the soundcard and let him rip while I recorded on Cubase.  Okay so please overlook the quality but listen to the beat and verses - I don't think people have heard this shit yet (even though it's 2 years old).

It's called Life Skills (from the Mr Lebese archive).

ps don't forget to check out some my beats (snippets) in the producer forums:

ha ha, okay now I know who Mr Lebese is

downloaded the track and will check it out later.

Didnt know you also did "Khoisan"? Props. Minimalistic but some peeps were loving it this side. And in JHB/Yeoville cats were feeling that Crhysanthenum joint "Fashion show". Couldnt believe they never heard till 3-months ago. You need to make your shit hit the streets man.

You shudda redone this track and included it on there. He sounds like a pot head all them mentions of it, hehe. But this is a nice track. the Beat is a nice backdrop for what his spitting abt. I like his flow and the content of his rhymes.

i def think its important that smaller radio stations link and that they find means to take that music to the people on the streets like radio mixtapes or something cos not everyone can recieve the freq

Liking ur idea Rush, that whole Mixtape thing.Almost like Sway and tech's wake up show vibe.

E, think thats a great idea.I know peeps this side gonna be hungry to peep what Nam be up to once they catch a wiff of the niceness. We could look into starting something like that.

def man radiostations out here very limited they need to find means to get there shows heard and broadcasting in that minimized frequency will not do it.in america they can target college stations cos there is so many of them.how many stations can u point that plays hip hop that reaches a broad audience?

So right man.I know in the US, when I was there, there was a buzz when peeps spoke bout College radio, cause they not limited like Commercial radio but got a big listenership too.

We need to get peeps out there like big corps to understand the importance of College radio and respect its place in the market. The best way is to create that buzz bout it.

im working at a college radio right now (tuksfm) and the listenship is great, problem is it majority is white, thus no hiphop shows on our station, the station manager said no to have a such a show which is understandable.

besides all that tuks fm is said 2 be one of the most widely listened 2 college radio station in the world, now if we could get somethign like that goin down @ rau or wits where we can get the right ppl listening to the shit.... but ideas cost money to act out :)
