I heard there's some friction between these guys 'cos of the what Kallitz call themselves... Black noise apparently disagrees with the politics that they think Kallitz's name represents. Kallitz on the other hand apparently says that Black noise is ,iving in the past and that they need to move on (rea;ity check basically)... I wonna know is this true?...
-
Yo Syntactic, you're the only other person online and I really want an answer... BEsides Doesn't Goodhope have good ties with Black Noise?...
-
Bra I cant say I've heard anythign from either party... you might have to wait for Dokter to logon and enlighten us.
-
That sux... Thanx nyways...
-
skinder nuus
-
It's not beef just a difference in opinions, maar ja dis net skinder nuss en niks anders. I would still like to know though...
-
Rumor is the child of Ignorance and Laziness...........................and Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.....go figure :o
-
What about the child? You poluting my thread boy, Imma have to knock you straight one of these dayz... Now didn't I tell you not to read the cosmopolitan? It isn't meant for the likes of you.
You heard the Kallitz album?
-
Ya, its not half bad.. they got their own direction and aint tryin to be Johnny USA, and that is greatly appreciated, also they know how to rock a crowd.
-
Ok, now what you think of the BVK album?
-
Which one Super Power? Ya well they been at it for a long time and its OK, the production aint all that as far as I'm concerned... I have the same production misgivings wit Kallitz stuff, but they still growing so I'm willing to be more forgiving.
Its ok but I preferred their first, and that whole conglomeration of cats have spoiled me cos they never lived up to the place that POC holds... nostalgia is a killa.
-
You wouldn't happen to have the POC album that was banned would you? There's a track on there I relly want. And I wonna hear why it was banned to this day and age.
-
Shit bra, I used to have it, but its sumwer in the archives... I'd have to scratch out a lotta shit to find it, but I'll look.
Thing is I havent listened to it in a LOOOOOng time, mostly cos, its got this holy place in my mind and I dont wanna listen to it now and be overly critical and in so doing, damaging a very important marker for my and all my friends' develoment.
-
My question is why is it still banned? Did they mention the ANC perhaps?
-
Too bad I was too young to listen...
-
When it came, it spoke to South African youth like nothing before... it is the very definition of struggle music.
-
I still don't know why it's still banned?
-
Mulmens
This is quite a surprise to read... where'd u hear this?
As far as I and KALLITZ are concerned, there's no such friction whatsoever.
Me and Boere were at their CD launch on Saturday, and we went for the sole purpose of support. Other emcee's tryin to front coolness were all one side in their corners watching from distant and elevated positions in the club. Me and Boere were front row amongst the crowd up in there, on the dance floor in front of the stage, so I dunno whats up. Me and Emile is cool, KALLITZ and the Black noise crew is as cool as ever in my eyes.
I've always been supportive of their cause, and still am.
Anyone here on AG that can speak for Black Noise perhaps?
-
As Rush put it, I think its just Skinner Nuus........or kinder stories.
I dont think anything should be made of this.Just my view.
-
Nobody's trying to make anything of this, just inquiring some stuff... I understand then, this guy was obviously trying his luck with me. Thanx alot for the responses. Still wondering though, if anyone has that banned P.O.C. album?I wonna hear it, badly...
And Dokter, how was the launch by the way? I was busy elswhere so I couldn't make it. The price was a bit steep anyways. Wished I coulda been there. Black Noise represented again with all the elements?
-
Ja, the price was steep, plus it was a bad time of the month.
But I believe the only way we gonna rise as artists is to support each other where we can, so I made a loan by our manager!!
He can deduct it off our next gig's paper...
Launch party was cool, glad I went - they had Ubuntu (dem b-boys that came 1st in the world this year, from CT my broe!!), kapiwera artists (however the hell u spell it!!), my homeboy Jamayka (from Angola) was on the mic and Black Noise doing there thing at the end - real high energy stuff. Emile 'n 'em is wicked when it comes to the live performance...
Quite a few CT hip hop and media personalities there as well, so it was good to see that.
Tell "this guy" that was trying his luck with you that KALLITZ don't beef with no-one who don't start the shit first.
-
Hey Dok, nicely said there at the end.
