Hip Hop Events / Notshi's album launch, Melville 26 Feb
« on: February 15, 2011, 07:12:31 PM »

Motswako has been a formidable force to be reckoned
within the last 13 years with 19 studio albums having been
released under this hip hop genre. Notshi, a 20 year old
Itsoseng native has impressed the likes of Tuks, HHP,
Mo'lemi and Khuli so much so, that they have all worked with
him on their projects or on Notshi's "Insert Coin".

The album title "Insert Coin" is a smart remark on the state of
entertainment as a whole. He refers to the fact that piracy has
hurt entertainment and his plea is for people to insert their
coins at music stores and purchase music. Having stepped
into the mainstream after being discovered on a blue-toothed
recording over a Fugees beat in 2009, he has been the buzz
of the Motswako fraternity.

Notshi (whose name translates to “bee” in SeTswana) had his
first taste of mainstream hip hop when he did the third verse on
a Lemonka track (that featured Tuks) on the award winning
Motswakotape and blew everyone away. Now he's a recording
artist with a well-received debut album and a single "Birthday
Weekend" featuring Maxhoba that has been on rotation at a
number of radio stations country-wide.

We invite you to join us with Khuli Chana & dj’s Lemonka; C-Live
and Chix Soulful on the 26th of February at Roxy’s in Melville to
launch Notshi's album and be the judge of how powerful
his sting will be in the entertainment industry. Doors open at 8PM.

Sigh.....this has been a horrible year!

I remeber going to see her perform back when i was about 8 or 9 with my parents in a little auditorium. Twas just her and a mic. no big bang shinding...no dancers and shit...just her, singing and telling stories between her songs, introducing the songs....

Wow....I'm saddened....may her soul rest in Peace :'(

What a momentous occasion. WOW !!!

Finally America elects a capable president. As much as him being a "BLACK MAN" is a great symbol for the entire world,i think the world in return should not dwell on that too much, but rather acknowledge that he was the best candidate for the job.A man who gives people HOPE.The world hasn't had since Mandela's release.Feels like 94 all over again.New beginnings.

The speech was brilliant.Between that and his speech on RACE RELATIONS,i don't know which one takes the cake.

Big Ups to McCain as well.Took the defeat well.Loved the way he quietened down his supporters when he was congratulating Barack when they started booing him.

Was listening to 702 and they made mention of how wonderful it is that there's no talk of "Power-Sharing" deals, and oh, let me be the Prime Minister here and there for another year, blah blah.People VOTE.One Winner. One Loser.Keep it Moving. AFRICA TRULY NEEDS TO LEARN.TRUE DEMOCRACY SHINES again.

Co-sign!!!

I'm listening to his acceptance speech right now. This is a great moment in history. Indeed not just for Americans, but the world as a whole. The incredible trust and faith that the Americans had in electing their first black president, and a capable candidate at that was just inspiring. A vote makes a difference. "This victory is not the change, but the chance to make the change".

Big Up to man who overcame many critics just because he didn't have as much political experience as his running mates. I'm so inspired. Got goosebumps all over!

YES WE CAN make a difference! YES WE CAN overcome whatever obsticles are thrown our way. With dediaction and the will to achieve, the audacity of hope will pull u through.
