CD"S?? smh@tdmf.
CDs are SHIT, Serato is aight coz as people have said, we're f***ed for choice. Only reason. I'll only play my own shit off Serato and other stuff you can't get on vinyl that I'm feeling and have PAID for. Admittedly, some of us have our own shit on vinyl but they can just shut up and go build other people's inferiority complexes ( ) not mine.
Sets off Limewire are just shabby. Damn internet professors can eat knob too learning everything in two years online and fronting like a general or something. Blurbing now I should just shut up and type when I'm sitting.
But what does it matter if a dj uses pirated tracks? there is only a small amount of djs out there so it wont hurt the artist that much... infact it actually helps the artist becoz of the promotion the dj does....
Theres truth in that, for sure - I just think that downloading the latest tracks from a peer 2 peer site and bumping them at your set the next Friday or Saturday night like you actually own them is not good DJ practice, its wack, especially on a piracy note.
On another note, I know DJ's (or so they think they are DJ's) especially on the house and electro scene, that have just discovered beatport.com and rock up with their loaded CD folder full of CD-R's and now think they're a DJ - I have an MP3 collection of epic proportions, its taken me 7 years to collect, and if I play a party and theres only CDJ's I'll burn a couple of CD's. But I also have a vinyl and CD collection, not even remotely close to the size of my MP3 collection, but I'm alot prouder of the latter than than my MP3's.
That made me wonder, does having a collection on vinyls make u a Dj, matter o fact wats makes a dj?
