1987 I was born into a land with no equality
But as a post democratic kid it didn't bother me
They honoured me, with the name Mpho which means Gift
So rapping (wrapping) began in the womb not as a teen, kid
In Grade One, the great one, Madiba was president
& I walked through a white a neighbourhood as a resident
& saw high walls & fences - where's the unity?
Realised its every man for himself around puberty

Around when the feminine kind started amusing me
A few of them has venom inside and started bruising me
& Foolishly I let one slip past the charming,
I gave my heart to her & she threw it back hardened.
I learnt in my two decades how to fight,
Life & times - In time, i learnt to live life
Learned to be inquisitive, yearned to be wise
& I learned to realise you learn till you die
