Media / Lu Accused Of Theft
« on: March 09, 2009, 11:56:31 AM »
This ish had me in stitches!

Source: www.sundayworld.co.za

Hip-hop star Crazy Lu must have been really crazy when he stole from his former band mate Da Les’s car – and left crucial evidence behind.

Crazy Lu, born Luther Cohen, is accused of stealing two laptops and Burberry shoes, and leaving his cellphone in Da Les’s car as evidence.

Da Les, real name Leslie Mampe, was performing at the Metro FM Heat Wave in Durban last week when the incident occurred.

He lent his friend, Prince Nyembe, his Mercedes Benz C-Cla** and Nyembe drove it to a house party in Bryanston, Joburg.

He left his expensive designer clothes, two laptops, new Burberry shoes and a video camera in the car.

“I’m still shocked that he stole my stuff. It’s really sad,” says Nyembe.

A livid Nyembe says they were all having a good time at the house party in Bryanston, which was hosted by a mutual friend.

He says car keys and cellphones were just lying on the table.

“Nobody thought there was a thief because we knew each other well,” he tells Sunday World.

Nyembe says Crazy Lu was aware that he was driving Da Les’s car. He says Crazy Lu hates the fact that Da Les has become a more successful hip-hop artist than him.

Nyembe also admits that everybody was drinking.

He says he went to get his cellphone charger, which was in the laptop bag in the car.

“I was shocked to see my laptop bag empty. I knew something was wrong,” he says.

He says there was no sign of forced entry and he went back to the house fuming.

“I switched off the music and told everyone no one was leaving the house until I found my stuff,” he says.

Surprisingly, Crazy Lu was the one who helped him to search people.

“He was even swearing at people, calling them thieves – then we discovered he was the main culprit,” he says.

He says they all went back to the car to search thoroughly.

He says they found Crazy Lu’s cellphone on the back seat.

“I asked everyone who the phone belonged to and all fingers pointed to Crazy Lu,” he says.

Nyembe says Crazy Lu confirmed it was his phone but said he was just chilling in the car with a girl.

“First of all, the girls denied chilling with him. Secondly, the house is big enough to chill there. Why would he take the keys without my permission?” asks Nyembe.

Nyembe says they checked around the house and the stuff was found stashed in the garden.

“We found both laptops in the the rain and the clothes were scattered around,” he says.

Nyembe says they took Crazy Lu’s cellphone to the police station.

Constable Bethwell Jafter of Sandton police station confirms that a case of theft has been opened.

Sunday World called Crazy Lu’s mother Helen’s home and an old lady claiming to be Kats, Helen’s PA, said Crazy Lu was entrapped.

“They are now jealous because my son ... sorry I mean Crazy Lu... got a recording deal in America. I know that little rich brat called Prince.

“He is jealous,” she said.

She claimed Nyembe was Kaizer Motaung’s nephew.

“I will deal with him. We are working with the FBI and CIA. You too must be careful. You will get fired there for writing sh*t,” she said.

Helen is the same lady who claimed an a**ociate of Australian cricket legend Shane Warne offered her R200000 to keep quiet about their relationship, phone calls and cellphone text messages.

She was reported in a weekend newspaper as saying she met Warne in South Africa early last year and went on several dates with him while he was on tour with the Australian team.

Politics / Zuma to be charged
« on: January 12, 2009, 11:47:48 AM »
South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeal said on Monday a judge had "overstepped" his authority in a verdict that tossed out corruption charges against ruling party chief Jacob Zuma.

A lower court had thrown out the charges against Zuma on a technicality, ruling that he was entitled to make a statement to prosecutors before being charged.

The previous ruling also implied that political meddling had played a role in the prosecution - a claim that led the African National Congress to recall former president Thabo Mbeki.

But the Supreme Court said as it began to read out its verdict that the lower court had "overstepped the limits of its authority" by hinting at political interference in the case.

Interesting...what does this mean for the ANC's elections campaign?

What a way to silence the critics..it could have been 4-2 had modise converted his penalty
