Nas to Kelis: Pay your own damn way! © TMZ

Nas, one of the biggest and richest rappers around, does not want to pay his estranged, pregnant wife, Kelis, a penny in spousal support.

Kelis filed for divorce April 30. She's weeks from giving birth and unable to work, but no matter to Nas -- he's filed his response to the divorce, asking the judge to deny her the spousal support she's seeking. For bad measure, he also wants her to pay her own lawyer's fees.

Nas and Kelis both want joint custody of their unborn child.

Kelis cites "irreconcilable differences" for the divorce, but we're told she believes he was cheating on her and that's what buzz-killed the marriage.

Mandla All Blinged Out - Millionaire to nillionaire
10 May 2009
Theo Nyhaba

big spenders: Mandla Mthembu and his flamboyant actress wife Khanyi Mbau seem to have frittered away all their lucre

‘They’d buy anything just to prove a point’

Everyone loves a rags-to-riches tale – but a riches-to-rags drama is even juicier skinner fodder.

Self-proclaimed millionaire Mandla Mthembu and his flamboyant actress-wife Khanyi Mbau might find themselves homeless.

This is after the couple were kicked out of the elegant Raphael Penthouse complex in Sandton, Jozi.

Sources close to the pair say things have not been rosy for Mthembu lately.

The couple was apparently told to leave their suite last week Thursday. And it is believed Mthembu’s belongings are locked inside their penthouse until they pay.

A source close to the couple says the Mthembus were paying R100000 a month rent for a fully furnished suite fitted with a plasma screen and DStv, a Jacuzzi, splash pool, a dining table that seated more than 20 people, five bedrooms, high speed Internet access, en-suite bathrooms, centrally controlled air-conditioners and a Sandton view to die for.

The source says they

owe close to R400000 after defaulting on their rent payments for three months.

According to another independent source close to the couple, the down-market Formula 1 hotel is the only place they call home at the moment.

“Those people are very careless with their money. They’d buy anything just to prove a point,” says the source.

Sunday World has also learnt that the Mthembu’s navy blue Porche 911 Carrera has been repossessed.

Mthembu denies that they have been kicked out. He says they have moved to a house in Morningside, which is near Sandton.

“There is nothing like that (being evicted). We have moved to a house because I need to play with my daughter on a lawn,” says Mthembu.

Another source says other residents and guests at Raphael were also complaining, especially when Mthembu beat up his wife.

“Khanyi screams dramatically and she would often run downstairs, where everyone was, when Mandla hit her,” says the source.

It does not end there. About a week ago Mbau walked out of a salon where she had done her expensive hair weaves without paying.

According to the source, Mbau told the salon owner she was going to the ATM, but returned only a week later to pay.

The source says for a businessman, Mthembu is always at home and never goes to the office.

“Even richer guys than him go to work. If he is not at a restaurant, he’s sitting at home,” says the source.

When Sunday World contacted Raphael Penthouse, a lady who asked not to be named confirmed that the couple had moved out.

“They don’t stay here anymore,” she said.

Mbau refused to comment when we called her.

Early this week our sister paper Sowetan reported that a warrant of arrest had been issued against Mthembu for owing R78000 in outstanding traffic fines.

Oh my bad... I think there are black/coloured people in her 'cabinet' (no interracial pr0n). But for a country with such a large majority of non-white people... I would have expected a higher ratio... just sayin'..

Do poets get same "privileges" as rappers?

well...yes... they wont have big frizzy hair and tig-ol-bitties... they'll probably wear a head-wrap, skirts only (no jean pant allowed), listen to copious amounts of Erykah Badu and refuse to give head... And you'll have to hang around coffee shops..

Im going to go out on a limb and say, personally.. the only thing Cape Town is good for is for those 'coloured' girls with the big frizzy hair and the big titties.. real talk..

truth! lol

Why would you wanna leave that behind?

cause you have to be a rapper to get them.

*pats self on back for being a rapper*

Actually .. I lie.. they got some pretty good weed in Cape Town too..

Funny.. I was discussing this last week with a friend... I been planning on moving back to Cape Town for the past 5 years... but honestly ... if you're young and black... its definitely a step backwards... People in the hood in CT have lost hope altogether... unless you went to a white school and maybe varsity.. you might get an entry level job... at best..

People are always saying how CT is the hub of African hip-hop. But honestly..from the show attendances Ive seen in the past few months in CT... thats highly debatable.. and even when you have hip-hop events in CT.. the actual headz dont come thru...

I have a serious love/hate relationship with Cape Town...

Im going to go out on a limb and say, personally.. the only thing Cape Town is good for is for those 'coloured' girls with the big frizzy hair and the big titties.. real talk..

dissapointing

I dont know who... but someone musta told those dudes that people in JHB werent feeling it very much, cos they came out gunz blazing in Cape Town... they proper killed it.. although if you're a throrough Slum V fan... you could see through some of the stuff.. like Elzhi saying he's gonna freestyle... then doing a verse from the Prequel Mixtape.. I was impressed that he did all of Baatins verses from Vol.2 though...

On a side note though... the organization for this gig was the shoddiest I've ever seen... like ever, ever... The flyer had a different time to when the gig started from the website promo. It was supposed to start at 3 but there were crickets in there till well after 8... but I guess its a start for these new promoter cats. I had a good time though.. how was the Joburg set... why is everyone like 'HHP was better'... or actually.. why the dissapointment..?

Yeah D...co-signature... Even those 'black professionals' you mention would rather go to a Juice party or a Butter party... and even that they wouldn't pay even R100 for.. I just think that its overly ambitious...

I've actually been to shows in Cape Town where there were more headz outside the club that inside based on this exorbitant pricing... And to be honest.. I love Slum Village.. but theres no way I woulda paid that amount either if I wasnt performing... call me cheap...

you just perked my interest when you mentioned Adilah thats all..

This one day a few years ago Im chillin at this rugby player friend of mines crib with the usual dimes that are hanging around.. the dude from Adilah pulls through.. (I dont even know his name but he's got a tattoo on the neck). This ninja had had his first blunt a few days before that and he came thru with this bankee of pre-rolled blunts.. So anyway he smokes his back-yard boogie until we put him on some skunk shit later on that evening.. next thing this guy spazzes out and later on we find him pa**ed out in the parking lot with his bankee sprawled out on the floor and some homeless guy jacking him...The funny thing is that he was telling these girls (one of who was a certain 'Chichi') that he's hardcore and can handle anything..lol..

He comes back the next day and asks if he forgot his bankee there.. I had to laugh at that..
