How about the verse from "Chaos" w/ Kweli?
"We the rhyme sayers, we lead you like a beacon of light out of the Chaos.."

yehhhh she did Chaos, it was actually the last joint she did before the freestyle session in Cape Town,
DJ Statik did Kweli's first verse,
and that beat's still too sick, almost a decade later!!! :-*

F*CK that was a dope dope gig, so many ill acts.

Bahamadia was GREAT, nothing less that I expected though, she's after all the Queen, breath controll's like whoa! and dopeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee rhymes.

my first time in a Cape Town in a minute so u can imagine my surprise to find out that there were that many sick emceez, big up to the organisers it was a great line up.

AS far as the freestyle session was concerned, don't get me wrong but that Kanyi chick was NOT freestyling, she ripped a straight 8-bar, i know u cats ain't that naiev. But her VERSES r definitely dope, she does praise DICK a lot in her rhymes
and that's XXXciting! :P but for a lot of cats who don't understand Xhosa, her flows are enough to forces u listen!

Eavesdrop is a dope mc with that SICK old school flavour rhyme pattern, her content's obviously well-delivered, and I dug the concept of her set, but eshe truly half-stepped when she bailed out on Bahamadia's challenge to freestyle: MY LIPS ARE  :-X

Endzi The Otherness displayed traits of a true MC. Her ryhme pattern is mad unique, SICK F'KN BEATS and the delivery's so live BUTwhat struck me even more about her is she has one of the dopest interactions with the crowd, that "stereo scenario" song was playing in my head after chanting along to it with the rest of the crowd. & then she be saying some shit like "she transends all parallels; to honour her elements". and sum shit along the lines of "document the acumen of arch-human", what?!!!! too illl!!!!and her freestyle's dope!!!the crowd went WILD on that!!!! BUT just one thing though, why the hell did she go bald ???, goddamit, loved her locks but oh well!!!!!

Fuuuuuuck! This mini skirt shit just sent me over the edge. f*** a dude. f*** a rapist and f***a brainless neanderthal.....but damn...f*** BLACK WOMEN>>>>f***ING BLACK OLD LADIES!!!!!! f*** f*** f***!!!!!

these bitches are the biggest opressors and reinforcers of f***ed-up male mentalities....the f***ing cancer in society...the f***ing g-string burning bitches...those devil bitches! sellout bitches!!! pure evil sickness.

they watched and condoned and took men's side. No different to when our mothers sold us out and burned g-strings at that JZ circus instead of standing for a girl who could have been their daughter....regardless of his guilt or innocence.

How the f*** can they stand by and cheer and say, yeah, she deserved that shit...she should know better and cover up...its african culture....f*** african culture...not my goddamn culture!!!! *i'm shaking from this shit...excuse me*

As I understand my own culture...Zulu, that is...

...in its untainted form that is...young women didn't cover their bodies...they wore enough to cover the vagina....only older women covered themselves because they have carnal knowledge/sexual experience, yada yada. Revealing the body in the African context was not a sexual thing, or a sign of promiscuity/enticement for men...but a celebration of youth/innocence...you ran around naked like a child until you were married/ touched by a man....the inverse being true of Western culture...(as I understand it)....bearing the body is sexually provocative. Again, as I choose to understand...covering up in African culture is a product of Western/Christian indoctrination that saw traditional dress a** bestial/barbaric.

...failing that, I have no frame of reference for where else this culture argument comes from.

just my piece...I stand to be corrected...any thoughts?

uhmmmmm....bit of a delayed reaction there, don't u think ??? ??? ain't this a bit old now?????
