Berlin - Two homosexual penguins have successfully hatched an egg that was rejected by its parents and are now proudly rearing the chick, the German zoo housing the couple said on Wednesday.

"Z and Vielpunkt, both males, gladly accepted their 'Easter present' and began straight away with hatching the egg," the zoo in Bremerhaven in northern Germany said.

"Since the chick arrived they are behaving in the same way as one would expect a heterosexual couple to do. Both happy fathers are now diligently handling the everyday care... of their adopted offspring," the zoo said.

Z and Vielpunkt are part of a six-strong gay community among the zoo's collection of endangered Humboldt penguins who rose to fame in 2005 when four Swedish females were brought in an unsuccessful attempt to "cure" them.

"Homosexuality is nothing unusual among animals," the zoo said on Wednesday. "Sex and coupling up in our world do not necessarily have anything to do with reproduction."

The Humboldt penguin is normally found on the coast of Chile and Peru, but numbers have dropped to between 12 000 and 20 000 as industrial fishing methods have led to dwindling stocks of the anchovies on which they feed.

a parktown boys skivvy ratted out on a couple of matrics for  conducting initiation on him. its all over the news.
and if it were my kid, he would have come home to more beatings.

oh ok. he probably deserves a good a** whooping but first what kind of initiation was that? i'd smack the shit out of him too.

cant recall everything, but the one i remember most was "getting hit with a cricket bat on the buttocks till he drew blood"

where i went to school, bleeding from punishment was an eyday thing! i remember how we used to even brag about our bruises and shit. i guess the game has changed. where these boys are now wearing these extra extra tight jeans at the malls and they consider that as cool. i dont know what the hell is going on

I think by the time you send your kids to an all boys school you know exactly what to expect, those women are just being silly or maybe I come from an abusive home   .

I don't like cinemas but i love my Castle Lager and there's this joint called Veers outside Wits where I can get the blood-required sips for R10 a quart which is just R1.50 more than I pay ekasi lalini yam.

veers was my joint back at wits!!! we used to go there to get heavily crunk, then go over to the couch and coffee on campus to chat up the arts broads. went back to the couch and coffee last year just to see if things were the same only to find a colony of homosexuals.
