hi everyone!

this is directed specially to the older ones who played videogames in the eighties! feel free to ask your dad if you're a playstation kid    ;)

i am researching for an exhibition and i still have very little information about the atari 2600 console in africa (south africa and any other country in africa)

here is my questions, and i hope some of you have some answers:

1) if so, when did the atari 2600 console first appear in your country? (negative answers are welcomed as well)

2) was there any official distributor(s)?

3) was there any clone consoles and games available? do you remember any names or specifications?

4) what TV standart is in your country (pal/ntsc)?

5) is there any african videogame collector site that you know of?

i hope i can get as much information from different countries as possible

thanx for the help ....

Cee-Lo Talks 'Gnarls Barkley' Collaboration With Danger Mouse
By Kye Stephenson
Date: 4/28/2005 12:00 pm

Goodie Mob member Cee-Lo and DJ Danger Mouse have teamed up and announced they're releasing an album under the name Gnarls Barkley.

"We are the perfect combination," Cee-Lo stated. "This album is one of the best platforms for me to express all of me. I get to expand my range and hit all categories from Urban, Crossover, Pop and Rock & Roll."

Danger Mouse, who received ma**ive press for mixing Jay-Z's Black Album with The Beatles' White Album to produce the Grey Album, recently produced the Gorillaz album and was named one of GQ's Men of the Year.

His Grey Album was chosen as Album of the Year by Entertainment Weekly and has been the catalyst for his current popularity.

"Danger Mouse's production is so futuristic and my lyrics are used as a vehicle to bring it home," Cee-Lo continued.

Gnarls Barkley snippets are available at www.gnarlsbarkley.com. Cee-Lo's latest album, Cee-Lo Green is the Soul Machine is in stores now.

The rapper has also rejoined veteran group Goodie Mob. The group is preparing a new reunion album featuring all the original members.

Big Love Presents:
Workshop 01 @ the Independent Armchair Theatre

Wednesday 22 March

FREE entry! or donation (please try!)

Big Love is starting our series of free workshops designed to inform people about issues in the music industry in South Africa. Every 2 months, we will cover topics on rotation around 3 main areas – the production side of music, the business / industry side, and live performance techniques.

Each speaker has been carefully chosen for their expert knowledge in these fields, and will provide an entertaining and informative evening for anyone who is interested in learning more about this challenging industry.

19:00 - 19:45        Roach from African Dope

The dumbing down of SA culture: how big media, big brands and consumer apathy have muted the underground, and what this means for non-mainstream artists in SA today.

20:00 - 20:45        Sibot from the Real Estates

Real time looping, live beat making, and production tips from the beatmeister behind Real Estates, Chromoscience, & Closet Snare.

21:00 Microstripe, Niskerone, & Com.it provide the beats

Stay afterwards for a chat and party.
