This is the kind of things is good to share.... u using compression on you busses or just on your individual tracks and how much are you using. as well EQ? as ths seems very different for Radio

Ok i've been meaning to touch base on this topic for a while. I've been reading for the last 6 months on the

DO's and DON'Ts of MIXING TRACKS FOR RADIO!!!

Has anyone touched on this subject yet, would be good info to share.

yeah,... it goes from basic things to very technical stuff.... its got a lot to do with

using very little compression...
choosing tracks that aren't crowded with a lot of instruments, all your frequency's need their own space to breathe
don't use stereo separation, meaning don't add like a stereo spread to you vocals or instruments, otherwise your track wont bump....
don't use reverb, keep your vocals dry, rather use delay...reverb causes and enhances distortion.
Switch to MONO and see if your track still sounds the same, are your instruments or vocals dipping or changing?

Been talking about this since sunday, they should have done an email authentication online voting. or a code sent to your phone to register your vote. The Online awards are totally flawed at this point, better they stick to SMS votes!!!!

Its $199 dollars not sure what they charging in SA, but the complete version costs R4995 at Turnkey in Joburg.

I got Logic 8 and ProTools LE, I can probably get Logic 9 for the Low soon, but most likely an academic version though, I want to get ProTools 8, I like ProTools, but yeah I hear Sampletude is the shit, our instructor who works for digidesign and knows ProTools in and out uses Sampletude at home. I still want to check it out, but anyone here heard of melodyne?

funny just got done downloading the demo of melodyne the other day, still want to check it out. How user friendly is samplitude? Logic sound library is quite extensive in 8 and i know 9 is crazy.

Yeah it might be the competition to ACID pro, might not have to leave the LOGIC environment to put things in time anymore...I think this version was supposed to compete heavily with PRO Tools, its the PRO TOOLS engine (Sound Quality) not so much the PRO TOOLS application that has been killin other DAW appz.  i noticed a diff in sound quality in LOGIC 8 against Cubase 4.

I think Im getting LOGIC 9 from christmas!!!

Have any of you guys played around with this. I got Logic 8 that was a monster upgrade.... saw a Just Blaze article

One thing that got me was the ability to quantize wave notes, so you can basically grab a motif keyboard or any of you fav keyboards play in a string, ba** or horns line and it can quantize each note.... that to me is CRAZY, dont know any DAW program that has that feature.

Yeah i think we need to define (Indie record labels) and Indie Record(ing) labels <<<--- cause there's a lot of those . There's very few doing anything beyond recording, mixing & mastering and a touch of marketing.

1. Pioneer Unit
2. Unreleased Records
3. Ghetto Ruff
4. Rage (i think)
5. Buttabing (i think)

these above are Record Labels,  - they got marketing, street teaming, video production design, press cd's, PR, Websites etc...

Wed on Shiz, Young Nation was buzzing about his new album, but he only performed his old tracx! what's up with that? why the suspension? I wos expecting a lil tasty treat since its been a min

funny that was my thinking  ,.... no for real nothing was mixed at time of the shiz niz shoot, it was almost 2 months ago when that episode was shot.
