Hip Hop Events / Ill Skillz Exclusives in CT

Its the Ill Skillz Exclusives back again fellas.

This time we got an action-packed line-up consisting of a collision of MCs based in 3 cities such as CT, JHB & PTA. As it goes... we got Ill-Literate-Skill, Driemanskap, Reason and Nthabi...AGAIN!!, Landmynz, The Anvilz, Ondaground, Ba4za and Ras. The show will be hosted by Hyphen and DJ sets will be held down by Romz Deluxe and Beatoven.

So check this out on the Sunday nights of the 16th & also on the 23rd of December at Zula bar in Long Street, CPT. R30 C/C per show will lace you in and you are promised that you won't regret it.

There'll be alot of material available from these performing artists such as Il-Literate-Skill's 'Anotha Day Anotha Rhyme' promo album, the 'Battle of Gugz Vol. 2' album will also be launched during those events, furthermore we'll have the 'Beats Against The Beats' album as well, the Landmynz Mixtapes Vol. 1 & 2 especially, Nthabi's promo titled 'From The Streets To The Lab', The Anvilz promo album, expect alot more though.

Yeah wsup, Jimmy Flexx said it already... its happening once again... the 'Ill Skillz Exclusives'... back by popular demand.

This time around we got Hymphatic Thabs as our guest appearance sharing a stage alongside Archetypes and Driemanskap... undisputedly Cape Town's or rather Native Yards (Guguletoire) Finest.

The showcase is taking place this Friday the 14th September 2007 @ Zula Bar in Long St. R30 will get you in and mos probably the doors will open @ 20:00. And jus b4 DJ Nick Knuckles and Romz Deluxe conquest over the decks there'll be sum films screened such as  the Archetypes DVD as well other hip-hop doccies I will mention later on.

Cum along and check out new exclusive sets from our performers such as: Ill-Literate-Skill performin new tracks from the forthcoming album as well as from the 'Battle of Gugz Vol. 2'; Driemanskap also performin new tracks from the forthcoming 'Battle of Gugz Vol.2'; Archetypes is always on sum new shit nuff said; and lastly Hympathetic oops!!! Wsup Fellas, binaminute since we last posted for gigs... but now finally on Saturday 4th of August, Ill-Literate-Skill will be launching their new event series project called the 'Ill Skillz Exclusives' @ Zula Bar, Long St., Cape Town City. So if ya'll happen to be around CT this weekend check the show out... its mos def gonna be sum dope shit.

The line-up for that evening includes Ill-Literate-Skill, Proverb (JHB), Driemanskap & Jazzlox, DJs Nick Knuckles & Soulo Starr will be holdin down their big decks. Cover charge will be R30 and the doors should open at about 20:00. Ill-Literate-Skill promo CDs will also be available on sale and there will be sum Butan Wear Clothing give-aways.

Did anyone check out the 'Lost Prophets' film about POC at the Encounters Festival? We, todays hip-hop followers/ heads/ rappers, might think that we all that and know it all, but those cats went through leaps and bounds and paid their dues fully. They've paved a way for and laid a foundation for hip-hop in SA, forcing means for it to be reckoned by our ignorant peeps.

It was very inspiring, and i'd recommend ya'll fellas to check it out. Big UPS to Dylan for lacin it up.

Oh by da way, I wish to inform my CPT peeps to check out the 'Ill Skillz Exclusives' launch next week Sat'day 04/08/07 @ Zula Bar, hosted by Ill-Literate-Skill and the line-up includes Driemanskap, Proverb and many other acts. Keep your ears on da ground for it.

Did any1 check out this new TV programme that will be playin on SABC 1 every Thursdays called 'Cypher'...i'm not sure when it commences though. I jus catched a snippet of it las nite on TV and Rhamncwa was there. Does any1 know what its about maybe?

General Discussion / Driemanskap & Ill-Literate-Skill in JHB (13-15 April)

Hope ya'll had a great long-a** easter weekend. JHB peeps should braced themselves this comin weekend for Ill-Literate-Skill & Driemanskap's appearance in JHB city, or let me say 'Gauteng' rather.

I wish to inform everyone about our performances here as follows: Fri. 13- Wits University @ 13:30, Mind Your Head @ 21:00; Sat. 14- States Theatre in PTA, (these were the following names that were mentioned to me performin alongside) with The Anvils, Reason, Landmynz, Damola, Ras, etc. But apparently it will be like a Tri-City gig consisting of CT, JHB & PTA MCs, hope ya'll find it interesting; and then on Sun. 15- we gonna hit the Slaghuis/ Dungeon Shack park-jams in Soweto.

So yeah thats about it. If there are any changes or more activities (even if its free tickets for the SAMA awards, I'll holla @ U Nthabi) i'll inform ya'll in time. Otherwise cum thru peeps and support and hopefully guide us around Jozi, we need all you peeps so we could acqauint each other and not jus rather communicatin via the nigganet. 'Battle of Guguletoire' and Ill Skillz's 'Anotha Day Anotha Rhyme' promo CDs will be avilable for R50 each as well.

Once again, once again... Its the first Rhyme Project for 2007. Diggin Deep done did it again, with their crews, Ill-Literate-Skill and Driemanskap holdin it down in the City of Cape Town. Its goin down at Armchair Theatre in Observatory, 135 Lower Main Road on Wednesday 14 March 2007.

This time around, featured on the line-up is Ill-Literate-Skill, Driemanskap, Endz & Jazzlox. On the one's & two's we got DJ Nick Knuckles & Dj Buttafingaz. C/C is R20 and doors open @ 21:00. Open-mics will be takin place, so should you be interested, jus be there on time so we can put you on. Cheap transport will be available as well (NB: return only).
