GR8 week!
we been flyin high on Y from mon-wed with ma**ive play on the JOINT! plus C-live showed us love on his SET on Y!(he been bumpin our shit at gigs too!), we got metro on lock for 3 weeks runnnin! with two TOPTEN HITS SO FAR!!!! and the NEW MONOPOLY/RHYME AND REASON JINGLE gettin MAJOR SPINS this SAT(like 2-3 times!), we also gettin love in PE on BAY-FM(wasup niggas!) and last night DEBUT a new TRACK on TUT(in PTA-capcity!)!

Hip Hop Album Sales: Week Ending 3/18/2007
March 22nd, 2007 | Author: ------This week’s sales were overcome with an R&B and Rap presence and represented half of the top ten.  After a four year hiatus, neo soul dignitary Musiq Soulchild released his album Luvanmusiq at number one with about 150k sold. A few thousand short of Musiq was Lloyd’s sophomore album, Street Love, in its second week. Following Lloyd was Rich Boy’s self titled LP at number three and shortly after Akon at #5 with 1.86 mil in his 18th week.
Southern rap veterans, 8-Ball & MJG, come in at number 8 with 50k sold while Notorious B.I.G. surprisingly dropped 14 spots to number 15. Unfortunately for Young Jeezy, platinum status may not arrive as soon as anticipated as he has fallen out of the top 30 to #36 with almost 950k sold.
Dreamgirls along with Beyonce continue to slip in the charts however this comes as no disappointment after several months in the top 50 albums.
Seems like the Gym Cla** Heroes rise to chart success may be short lived as they have fallen a few spots to #39 with 228K. Unlike Ciara’s Evolution which dropped one spot to #45 this past week, Pretty Ricky has dropped nearly 20 positions in two weeks with their album, Late Night Special.
Bow Wow’s Piece of Fame is slowly living up to its name as it steadily approaches becoming gold with 461K. Both Diddy and Luda drop several spots on the charts but Nas drops a surprising 26 spots in the past week leaving at #93. Treading behind Nas are John Legend, Omarion and The Game respectively as Jay-Z falls out of the top 100 with almost 1.4 mil sold in his 17th week.

Hip Hop Album Sales: Week Ending 3/11/2007
March 15th, 2007 | Author: ------Even after death, Biggie still moves units like no other and has taken the number one spot within a week of his Greatest Hits release with over 99k sold. Akon however, shuffles about the top 5 once again and tails behind Biggie at number four with Konvicted’s platinum status of 1.8 mil. As many rotations that Robin Thicke’s LP has received he still has yet to break the 800k barrier and has dropped five spots to #10 after 23 long weeks on the chart. This leave Justin Timberlake as the reigning R&B pop sensation at a close #11 with nearly 3 million copies sold of FutureSex/LoveSounds and Fergie trailing behind with 1.5 million at #13.
Looks like the only female R&B artists to break the top 25 are the coveted Dream Girls who dropped a surprising 16 spots to #24 with almost 900k in sales.
Young Jeezy dropped a few spots to #27 in his 13th week making him the only other rapper within the top 30 next to the Notorious B.I.G. and dangerously close to becoming platinum 931k sold.The intriguingly alternative rap group, Gym Cla** Heroes, despite the steep decline of their peers Pretty Ricky, continued to move up the charts to #35 in their 9th week however their 200k is far from breaking gold.
Beyonce’s B’Day continues to fall in the charts 7 spots to #33. Hopefully her remastered double disc album will become more successful.
