Best One Hit Wonders

Shawty Lo — "Dey Know" was a smash, but we don't know if he can do it again.
2 Pistols — Getting 2-pieced then releasing a press release about it isn't gangsta.
Flo Rida — Make a hit without T-Pain and we'll gladly take this back.
V.I.C. — Did you know he dropped an album this year? Exactly.
Soulja Boy — We'll take this back if album numero dos is cla**ic material. Fail.
Chance & Real — You know, the VH1 reality TV dudes. Do. Not. Drop. An. Album.
Yung Berg — He was on this last year so we can't disregard his persistence. However, he made more noise for catching L's than for his actual music.
Lil Wil — Hope you enjoyed the fame, say hello to DJ Unk

Worst BEEFS

Yung Berg vs. Maino & Trick Trick & Ne-Yo & you get the idea...

T.I. vs Shawty Lo

Ice-T vs. Soulja Boy

50 Cent vs Young Buck — Crying...taped phone calls...money owed...crying...bad beef records...again, crying.

Rick Ross vs the truth — Disparaging the real Rick Ross, denying photographic evidence and beating up DJ's is not going to erase the fact that you never knew Noriega...the real Noriega.

T-Pain vs. People that use the autotune without asking — You didn't invent it. Everyone uses it. Everyone has always used it. You just used it for a whole album. You're good but you're not that good.  Let it go.

Cam'ron vs Jim Jones (Juelz Santana and Dipset in general)  — What would you have said if someone told you five years ago that the scruffy dude that ad libs behind Cam'ron would be more prominent than him in 2008)

50 Cent vs Whoever starting a beef with can lead to boosted sales.

WOrst People

Jesse Jackson— Here we have the first viable African-American candidate in ages (note: male Black civic leaders with perms can only get so far) and instead of bigging the guy up, you threaten to castrate the man, on Fox New no less. The crocodile tears when Obama won the big one didn't move us to give this award to anyone else. We really want to stop calling you Messy Jesse. Do better.

But let's not forget...

Sarah Palin

Fox News

Rush Limbaugh

John McCain's entire campaign

And finally, George W. Bush; good riddance and please let the door smack ya where the good lord split ya on the way out of Barack Obama's new digs. Pause.

Worst Entourage

Yung Berg’s crew — while busting guns on YouTube Berg was getting smacked up and having his chain tooken in clubs. Let's prioritize people.

The Roots' Tour Bus Driver

Whoever is with Katt Williams — You're already holding his weed...hold his gun too.

Whoever is with Plaxico Burress — Hold his gun...and get him some clothes besides sweatpants.

John McCain's campaign staff — Thank You...for running the absolute worst campaign ever ...but you really need to slap whoever agreed with you and said, "Yeah, that Sarah Palin is a maverick."

Still Waiting.....

At some point all these albums were supposed to drop in '08—some...ONCE AGAIN, Detox...were even supposed to drop years before. Here's hoping we'll finally hear new albums from...

Dr. Dre, M.O.P., 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, OutKast, Eminem, Eve, Saigon, Peedi Peedi, Raekwon, Cannibal Ox, The Fugees, The LOX, Juelz Santana, Mos Def, Joell Ortiz, Tru Life, and so on and so on...

Also, we're waiting on Shyne to get out and for Kanye West to make a Hip-Hop album. Pow. :D

Thanks 'Perb,

Indeed we have a large pool of talent and its great that we have a "diverse" pool.

For me,I categorise it into :

Conscious/Real - Tumi, Ben Sharpa, "Blakles" of The Anvils
Battle/Punchliners - Proverb, "NVeigh" of The Anvils
Street - Seida Crook, Cashless, The Anvils, PRO, Koli
Motswako - HHP, Tuks, Morafe
Kwai -hop - Skwatta, Teargas
Spaza - Drie, Rattex
Pop - Da Les, PBA
Crack - Crackboys, MVT

Thought I should correct that for you...

I mean, you can only love these artists and respect what they do. If it wasnt for their hard work and grind, what would SA hiphop be?
It would be Nasir'd- ie. dead! real talk.

Much love to all the artists and entrepreneurs in the game today!
Producers like Bongs, Dome, Don Juan, Oatz, Mizi, Trompie, So Fresh, Sean Page and many more.

With regards to marketing and distribution, its a matter of "Commercial Growth". ie. we need to make a stronger effort to make our music, artists, brands, lifestyle and culture more "commercially viable". I think we experienced a "big boom" in the early 2000's,then we experienced a "recession". Its the natural way of life.

Now that all the majors have pulled out of hiphop, it really is back in OUR hands! Lets make 2009 memorable!
lol

Its a culture that black people have adopted. I understand why it would make no sense to you.

Wow. I raise a perfectly legitimate query and as always, you're a prick.

read what i said after the post Robert.
ANd it is a very valid point i made as well. Indeed there are certain things that black people do that will never make sense if youre not black. No offence intended. We are all open minded here

I think there's a judge, heaven and hell. We can't all be going to the same place. What about Adolf Hitler, Idi Amin and the like? The justice system in SA is pretty messed up. People kill in cold blood all the time and don't go to prison. Who do you think is going to give the victims justice?

I think we would feel really lousy after realising that "there will never be justice" :D So we choose to believe that some superior being has crafted this perfect plan whereby all wrongs will be punished, or forgiven(depending on the severity of the wrong doing/or wrong do'er - or - the circumstances leading to the wrong do'ers wrong doing *as Seida stated in the mother being raped scenario* - and numerous other loopholes which we never really look into).lol.

You see people, there is a slight flaw in thinking that Hitler doesnt deserve the same fate as you and me. After all, are we not all equal in the eyes of the supreme being? Is Hitler not just a part of the ultimate plan? Isnt that what he was created to be, in the same way we are created to be who we are?

Or is there a rating system which scales up your SIN LEVEL and conveniently categorises you in a specific folder?

Personally, I beleive in God and My Swag ;)

See, I don't get this.

I understand very little about finance and I couldn't sell a lifebelt to a drowning man, but isn't a chain cla**ed as a depreciable a**et?

If you're so into making money that you want it around you all the time in the form of a chain or an iced-out money clip or whatever, then surely you'd be smart enough to make sure that everything you invest in (and I suppose a chain counts as an investment) would make money for you?

Leaving aside dubious talk about how your ice will help you sell more records (it won't) how can something like a chain possibly be a good investment? I could understand if you use the Jay-Z/Rocafella method of hiring limos to do shitty little gigs and always making sure everyone in the crew is fresh to death (in that money begets money) but I'm not sure that works anymore.

A chain doesn't make sense. On any level. And let's be honest, you look like a f***ing retard.

Its a culture that black people have adopted. I understand why it would make no sense to you.

On the other hand, you might have a point! Black people do embrace a lot of retarded shit.lol

Me personally, i love me a chain man. first thing i did when landed in the city of gold was "cop me a chain n sum fresh clothes" - that was like "my long walk to Blingdom". It gave me a good feeling. Do what makes you feel good and live your life how you want to live it.

and watch MTV ;)

Producers - Discussion / Re: Trompie's Blog

Back early 2006 I had the pleasure of meeting with these two chics...wait... they rocked up at my spot with a nicc I was busy producing. They were per say impressed with my production and asked if they could work with me... So after some time stalling, I ended up doing a track with them late 2007... although girl groups are unreliable, you know a split is eminent...

J2K - Love me Love you
get link from blog

Now, continueing with my story, I know you aint strangers to the name POET by now, or you gotta search on the blog for his name. This is the first ever track we did together early 2008 which was actually a remix to a crappy mastered track that he had (pardon me...if you knew or might listen to the original, you'll understand)... anyway, we done did this before I was asked to Executive Produce his project... although I was excited, there was sceptism that I had about the whole thing... so here you go... get it while its hot and get the full (clean) version by request or release of SIAMESE Midnight Remixtape project...

POET - Im sorry (SIAMESE Midnight remix)
get link from blog

This is one of my fav' joints I produced cuz of the concept and the chic featured. Maybe you recognize the voice...yes... thats the same chic from Ondaground's "Brand New" joint and J2K's "Love me Love you"... she's a cla**ic to me...she fits in perfectly... well... enough about her... POET kills it as usual... getting to the top "Takes time"

POET ft. KG - It takes time
get link from blog

Any interest of getting properly mastered studio/radio edited trax, can request them via mail....

bleksperm@gmail.com

Remember KG of J2K??? Or better yet... the chic that gets featured always on SIAMESE Ent. produced joints....??? well... here the lady in question.... see attachment....

put the face to Ondaground "Brand New" and POET "Its takes time" joints...

POET is FIRE!
We recorded and shot "Beat Down" featuring POET @ the Hearstreet Studios.
Check him out on Dem Crackboys Fan Club on the Video.
This cat could possibly be what Cap City has been waiting for - A fresh new talent!
