@TwoTeams. Benni can still contribute and that's just how I feel. How much time does SA have to groom youngsters for next year's world cup? Be realistic man, that should've been done years ago.

@TwoTeams. You're patriotic and all but I stronly disagree with you on the Benni issue.  What are you on about? Do you not watch him play at Blackburn? He is not past any sell by date. He's way better than the current crop of strikers that SA has. Sure SA played well last night, but goals win matches and tournaments. We played 4 games at the Confed Cup and only scored in one of them. We won one game, lost two, drew one. 4 game and all we have two goals to show for it. All of this AT HOME! Any aspiring super-power would admit that those stats are not good enough. We can do much better that. South Africans tend to get satisfied before we actually achieve anything. We have improved but we are still not good enough.

@Deeee. You, FIFA and Castrol are all trippin'! We watch football matches not football rankings. Xavi over Kaka, Modise over Pirlo? I won't argue with you here coz that's who you prefer. If Gaxa is ranked higher than Booth and Masilela then the guy that compiled that list needs to get fired and then smacked.

Your reasoning on Teko seems to be a bit sentimental and I hope Santana doesn't feel the same way. On both occa**ions, Teko's  PSL awards were disputed. Yes, against PSL teams Teko is unstoppable but for Bafana, NAH! You know how it goes in our PSL, once you have a name, the smaller team become afraid of you. I don't believe the hype.

I really don't think Teko is our best player. The SA media just made it seem that way (billboards, adverts, etc.). Pienaar is a better player. I think Dunga is just being polite to Santana.

@TwoTeams. Yeah, based  on your argument, 4-5-1 could work. My midfield would include Pienaar, Elrio, Tshabalala, Mhlongo (only coz Sibaya is suspended) and KG. The only place Teko needs to be is on the bench so he can watch the game and come on in the second half. Teko is just not a team player these days.

@TwoTeams. Surely you can't know for sure if Parker will play well or not. Why sub him before the game even starts? Gaxa hasn't been too bad either, plus, defensively he's better than Moon (excellent at attacking but has defensive frailties). Either way, a lot of work needs to be done before the world cup. We deserve to be in the Confed semis. Iraq and N. Zealand played negative football the whole tournament and couldn't score any goals. Had it not been for Mokoena's penalty, we might've come away with a draw against Spain. Torres was well-marshalled by Booth, Pienaar had Xavi under pressure and Khune was controlling his territory. Santana must stop being negative though. He must play two strikers, two defensive mids and three attacking mids. We must stop giving these teams too much respect. Countries like Cameroon and Nigeria would never allow Brazil or Spain to dictate terms in their backyard. We need to have the same attitude. We've got nothing to lose anyway. Brazil have been declared winners way before the game starts.

mokuena continues to be the worst player at the Cofed Cup

Fixed. Ps, Teko needs benchtime. He's way overrated. Don't know why they'd say he's the future when he's 26 (Zidane won a world cup at this age, Henry and Trezeguet were only 20!!) and can't get one shot on target. Play some guys who put the team first... Erio?? Siphiwe??  Three defensive midfielders who can't pa** the ball (Sibaya, KG and Mhlongo) won't win anyone any matches. Rather keep KG on and probably play Mhlongo in Sibaya's absence. My team against Brazil would be:

1. Khune
2. Gaxa
3. Masilela
4. Booth
5. Khumalo
6. Mhlongo
7. Van Heerden
8. Dikgacoi (must play double-6 with Mlhongo)
9. Parker
10. Mashego (wasteful, always offside but much more active than Fanteni)
11. Tshabalala

Subs:

Fernandes
Modise
Fanteni
Davids
Moon
Mphela
Mokoena

I am not sure why there are such big expectations on Bafana. Everyone else at this tournament is a champion (NZ is arguable but still). Bafana are just the hosts.

Re-direct your ether towards New Zealand for celebrating a draw (against IRAQ!!!) like they'd just won the World Cup.

What a boring final. One team showed up while the other was so ga**ed up by its spineless fans and biased media that they didn't prepare for the match. Ferguson was thoroughly outcla**ed by Guardiola. I knew Man U wouldn't win the Champs League after they played Arsenal in the league at Old Trafford two weeks ago and got pa**ed off the park. I thought, "if they can't cope with our pa**ing game, imagine what Barca will do to them".

Xavi and Iniesta were comprehensive in midfield. Pa** after pa** after pa**. That's how the game should be played! Poor Carrick was stranded! Whenever Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't play well, neither do the rest of his teammates. I think Ronaldo is an excellent player but Messi is a bit smarter on the ball than he is, plus he's more of a team player. Was impressed with Wayne Rooney, he kept trying and trying , and hardly ever lost his cool (he's grown). I expected a cliffhanger last night was very disappointed at how easily Man U got dealt with.
