yes corruption is a problem and it wrong but im sure if you give our people about 300 years of doing it they would be smart about it and disguise it so nicely that it is presented as normal. The fact that mine workers go down to the bottom of the earth risking their lives looking for gold and they get paid salaries that make them not to be able to afford a gold chain is the worse kind of corruption, and we see it as normal.

Agreed.

The problem is that he is making sweeping generalisations, which could lead to big trouble. We've seen it in Nazi Germany and we've seen it in Rwanda.

The rich money-handler white people are further removed from the poor, hand to mouth living white man than we are. I have more in common with poor whites that I have with rich blacks. He should be attacking all the people who are exploiting others, but he chooses to select an easy scapegoat. Its like people in Alex and elsewhere who chose the foreigners to vent on.

Like I always say, its a cla** issue, much more than it is a race one.

The fact that there are poor whites doesnt disprove the rule....that there is a certain privilege throught all levels of cla** system that comes from being white...its the same with male privilege. It doesnt matter what cla** you belong to, as a male you have certain privileges that women dont have. Under apartheid retarted whites had jobs ( sheltered employment) with full benefits ( housing allowance etc). If we agree that cla** inequalities, racism and patriarchy are all byproducts of capitalism then we need a holistic approach to things, we cant just single out one thing and say its more important than others.

I think it has to do with his comments about whites. He is using a strategy where everything negative is blamed on white people, similar to what Hitler did before the holocaust. Only difference is that Hitler was in power already and he demonised Jews to the extent that people thought wiping them out was a good idea.

Its a bit of a stretch, because Malema isn't only going at whites. He's going at everyone. I think he's overplaying his hand slightly. Will be nice to see what happens in a few months when the ANC comes to Bloem. I'm gonna put in leave here and freelance at the conference. I can't let that go by while I sit in a boring f***ing office, writing press releases and having meetings about which photos work best on my faculties' front pages.

i hear you Pyro and i also think that part of the problem is that white people in this country never owned up to what they did and they dont want to acknowledge that they still and will continue to benefit from Apartheid ( white privilege).

lets just for a minute forget who or what he is.....why is Malema compared to Hitler? Is it because of the expropriation of land without compensation comment?

Nas & Damian feat K'naan- Africa must wake up

I just skimmed through the article due to time constraints. It brings about some interesting points but it also sounds like the old south african hiphop heads acting "holier than thou" and we been through this before?

Kwaito is almost dead due to house music why would you pick on it now?  ;D

Also, I found that the south african hiphop community was very quiet about Andreas Tetane. How are we going to diss kwaito then? Thats just hypocritical.

Concerning Andries Tatane,I do not think it is fair to expect Hip Hop to act on ad hoc basis, that is to say it must say something according to events. I think it is enough (and this is so for any discourse) to have a basic perspective on issues with people being able to use this perspective to understand events. What i mean is, Hip hop didn't have to say anything about Tatane but if people had heard say Sharpa's Hegemony or KRS' Sound of the police and Black cop then they would have been able to understand Tatane's murder as not just police killing a protestor but as an anti-Black state with the popo as its button men killing a Black man.

Amahle awagxobhwa...fully cosig!!!

@ Msani

So you think it would have been more effective if he did it the day before elections? The killing of Osama takes the terrorism discourse that has occupied the minds of the Americans since 2001 to another level and Obama is responsible for that, he is the hero. He is the one who fought and won against terrorism and knowing American media and his smart PR team..that is the message that will be peddled for the next 10 years.

I don't believe a single thing... well the nigga prolly died ages ago anyway and the americans didn't even kill him

THIS...the timing of the "killing" is perfect, Obama is gonna get his second term in the office, the military budget is gonna double becoz we need to "protect ourselves" and in doing so giving more money to arms manufactures/arm dealers. everyone is happy, the ma**es wont question shit coz they will be more patriotic!!

If you've lost everything in the Tsunami, are the debit orders still gonna go through at the end of the month?
