General Discussion / Life is good.

What can be better than sitting at work on a Monday, not doing anything, but surfing the net on the company´s expense, eating a large Scooters double bacon pizza and drinking an ice cold Black label (from a squeeze bottle, else I´ll get my a** fired). Got back from Lesotho this morning after spending a brilliant weekend with my girl.

Times like these, I actually think of not resigning anymore.

Hip Hop Events / e-tv shiznizz
« on: December 06, 2004, 06:12:00 PM »
Did anyone watch Shiznizz or whatever its called on e-tv last week?

Apparently they showed scenes from Ground Control. I missed it, but I thought maybe there’s someone who know how I can get it, since our footage has mysteriously dissapeared.

I’d like to know where e-tv got hold of it.

General Discussion / I need a job
« on: November 30, 2004, 11:28:00 PM »
jUST GOT BACK FROM A JOB INTERVIEW WITH THE GOVERNMENT.

Got through the first ten minutes of it with ease, impressed them with my knowledge of Photoshop, Freehand, Flash, Dreamweaver and Coreldraw, for the following ten, and then this woman asks me, what do I think are the strong and weak points of Quarkxpress.  I´v e never used quark in my life!!!!!

I lose the plot and try to explain that Quark is on its way out and Indesign is the way of the future. They say, well thats our main software over here and you´re gonna have to sit through a practical test to test your abilities on it now.

I go and do the prac, and then manage to whip up something quite impressive-looking, even better than the other two morons also doing the prac. Now I hope the other four people on the shortlist suck more than them.

Else I´m really unemployed as of FEbruary.

General Discussion / Chocoate
« on: October 27, 2004, 06:51:00 PM »
I just realised that Beacon chocolates are really horrible.
Their whole Nuts have very few nuts and they’re all half instead of whole.
Their Fruit and nut has very little nut and almost no fruit and their Milky white tastes digusting.
I love white chocolate and now I’m dissapointed cos the one I’m eating tastes disgusting.

Cadbury is the shit!!!

Who makes dream? Thats the best white chocloate in the world.

General Discussion / Supercrew
« on: October 25, 2004, 04:56:00 PM »
If you had the oppurtunity to create a supercrew, consisting of any ten mc´s out now, signed or unsigned, and record an album with them, who would you pick.
Male or female, only hot lyricists.

Here´s mine:
1. Immortal Technique cos he´s probably my favourite lyricist right now.
2. Tonedeff, cos he´s a close second to Tech and his flow is ridiculous.
3. Eminem, even though he´s fallen off recently, he still has the ability to set any track he´s featured on, on fire. Especially amongst other hot lyricists, he always comes nice.
4. Pharoahe Monche, One of my favourites of all time, sick flow, mad creative.
5. Jean Grae, cos she´s probably the most creative Femcee out there, she just needs to put some emotion into her delivery.
6. Canibus, though he tends to bore me as of late, there´s no denying that the boy is nice. Imagine him and Em together on a track.
7. Chino XL, King of punchlines, but besides that  he knows how to set a track alight.
8. Masta Ace, even though he´s "retired" now, I´d love to hear him on an album with all these guys.
9. Manny the dirtmerchant of Sweatshop union, kid is f***in funny and has a nice flow, just to add something different to the mix.
10. Eyedea or Brother Ali, couldn´t decide between these two, but either of them has the creativity and the hunger to make a crew hot.

Now try to imagine all these cats, on an album produced by DRe, Abilities, 9th wonder, Masta Ace, Kanye and The RZA. Pure hotness.

So who´s yours?

General Discussion / It was all a dream
« on: September 30, 2004, 02:46:00 PM »
I had a weird dream last night. We were all at some AG party in Cape Town at Milk´s house.

Spacevein looked like a tall malnutritioned Nigerian, Nyambz turned out to be white, Tate was a short bodybuilder dude, with a really deep voice and Lazy Sam was gay and coming on to everyone. Even Moly was there and we ran a train on her.
No one liked me, cos I took all the hot chicks while they had to be happy sitting in a circle jerking each other off.Spacevein tried giving Tate a rimjob, which ended in an a**whipping.Milk was the dj, spinning a whole lot of old school mixed with Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong.

After the party we marched to parliament and each performed a little thing. Lazy Sam did a gay b-boy/pron thing with Trevor Manuel, where he inserts his left foot into his a** and then does a one legged flair. I beatboxed the National Anthem and Moly stripped to the sounds.
Thabo was so impressed that he declared that Hip hop would be recognised as an official national cultural group and we even got handed back our traditional ancestral land which is a farm just outside Cape Town, where they dug up some ancient 3d graf in mad colours. We moved there but a week later, there was a riot and The USA attacked us, cos we stole their title as the inventors of hip hop.

Producers - Discussion / Pyro finds gold!!!!!
« on: September 06, 2004, 04:40:00 PM »
Yesterday I was cleaning out a room at my grandmother´s house, and guess what I found.

More than a hundred vinyls (seven single and LP´s) from around the seventies and sixties. Some nice funk and a lot of stuff I´ve never even heard of. Apparently belonged to my mom and her sisters when they were growing up. Now its all mine!!
I think its finally time for me to buy those decks and start sampling.

Hip Hop Events / Word of thanx
« on: August 16, 2004, 05:00:00 PM »
Pyro´s thank you´s

Thanx to all the people who supported us with Ground Control.
I wasn´t as full as we expected, yet all of you had enough soul to make it live. Hipnotica, Kulax Phlo; Zee & Idie, Psychonic(winner of the battles), Anonymous B-boys and evrybody else that were there. Thanx to all of you. Nice way to get word out on the 051 compliation and let people know that Bloem isn´t to be written off, as far as hip hop is concerned.

Pyro´s Phuck you´s

a small phuck you to all of you who said you were coming and didn´t.
A huge phuck you to all those c***flaps who stood outside the door complaining about the ten rand cover charge and inciting more people to complain. You´re the reason that half of the people turned back at the door. You all knew that the event was advertised as R30 cover, and the reason I did this was to make sure people dont show up and complain that they dont have enough cash and beg  me to let them in for free.
These happen to be the same people who complain that nothing ever happens in Bloem, yet when we go out of our way to let something happen, you wont support us. You all know who you are. After three years of having these events, I´m actually considering calling it quits.

The first three Ground Control events had no cover charge, we paid for everything out of our own pockets. After three years we have yet to see a single cent of profit and this weekend we couldn´t even break even. so f*** all of you who are too stingy to fork out ten rand for a whole day of entertainment, but are willing to pay hundreds to see garbage like 50 cent perform for an hour. Charity should start at home bitches. so phuck you for telling other people not to supprt us because you felt offended for not being allowed in for free, while everyone else paid. f*** you also, for not considering the fact that Sqew and I had to pay for the venue hire, sound, and advertising.

Sorry for this, but I just had to get something off my chest, cos these stingy a**holes piss me off.
