the whole concept of awards is more aimed at your mainstream artists anyway - popular artists usually do better at awards than underground artists because awards implicitly buy into the belief that popular = good.

Bt these r SA's only Hip Hop Awards Dplanet. I hear you bt jus nt accepting it. This gonna stain tha game. Younginz cumin up gonna get tha mould part of tha Hip Hop in SA,tha rotten side.

So tha means if awards r 4 mainstream artists, how are tha otha artists who r nt in tha mainstream gonna get acknowledged?

I share tha sentiments of da caller who called in on da Bridge last nyt. He had a fear that the outcome of Hype's Best Producer award will really change S.A's producer game. People will consider that as realness jus bcoz SA's only Hip Hop mag nominated nd even voted for it. The caller even said that tha producers who wer on last nyt wer merely about jiggyness nd sales.lol. "Tibo Touch Era" . your thoughts?

At the crib i've recorded keys, ba**, electric guitar, all conected directly into the sound card.

Then i've recorded acoustic guitar, violin, trumpets etc with my mics.

Wel what did u use specifically?

Was "Memory" (AQ,Thir(13)teen) one of tha trax with live ba**? nd what else.

I need as much technical reference as possible..guys sorry for bein a pain

Pino Palladino ? hmmmmm shud chek him out.
I knw BK uses them Redefinition dudes a lot when he need session artists nd that.the sound is too dope,heavy ba** lines,crisp drumz and melodic keys

Any of you plug in your instruments to record? Is it to a mixer or straight to tha audio interface? Which works better?Cubase, Pro Tools?

With an emphasis to on Ba** guitars.Bt all instruments welcome...

Its a gud thing that im talkin to heads here.
Actually cla**ically trained musicians or jazz artists look at hip hop as bein a rather non challenging genre to transcribe coz of its 'loop style' and effortless progressions in most instances.Just their opinion. though...

yo i recorded this crazy 11 or 13 year old drummer 3months back... he amazed me big time! & he had the arrogance of a 23year old!!!
Yeah im a keys man, currently not in any band, but im about to join my church one soon. Keys is the soul of the music! When im banging them sevenths chords i be twirlin & squirmin... nah i aint a pro, but i feel em big!
