1. Introduction

Cla**ic Dirt is a compilation tape by San, the Instru-Monumentalist (who hails from Lesotho) and Phil, the Kritik (who hails from Uganda), two beatmakers/producers currently stationed in southern Africa (Lesotho & South Africa to be precise). The project in simple terms can be explained as the end product of like minds, the consequence of understanding the musical and artistic benefits borne from international relations. Cla**ic Dirt brings together on one record, some the world's finest emcees, producers, vocalists and poets to wax lyrical with prowess over production by the Kritik and the San.

not to boast or brag or nutin  , but i got the entire series...all 7 seasons and im loving IT   

from the MASTERFUL MIND of the same man that brought us this here CLa**IC:



and this one:



to name a FEW...

comes brilliance in acting, script writing, cinematography and all round appeal.

however, even if your not a cinema buf, this is a PRODUCER's MECCA, atleast for those that enjoy rare and untampered vocal sampling, its a jewel worth having in your collection...!

i recommend this above all else, if your a cinema HEAD...!

i dont really know how to introduce PATRICK McGOOHAN or even the series ive been watching lately. let me just say this; he was the 1st choice to play the character "007" in Ian Fleming's JAMES BOND but they had to settle for SEAN CONNERY...!..yep, i said it...

im re-watching a series called "PRISONER"...watching it again, i have a renewed level of respect for PATRICK McGOOHAN, in as far as script, concept, execution and over all contribution to film/series/television goes... the man is indeed a GODFATHER of among many things, the SPY THRILLER genre...



a SYNOPSIS

"This exchange hails from the original British series, The Prisoner (1967), in which Patrick McGoohan, playing a character named Number Six, finds himself imprisoned in an old-style village. The opening sequence of the series has him driving around London in a fast car, driving up to his employer’s desk and slapping down a letter of resignation. He has been brought to this presumably secluded village because he has valuable information — what this information is, we don’t know. We also don’t know McGoohan’s occupation. All we know is that he’s trapped because he’s left his job, and he wants to leave.

(When the original series premiered, many viewers a**umed, and perhaps were meant to a**ume, that McGoohan’s character was John Drake, whom he played in another British import, Danger Man (Secret Agent). This, however, was left ambiguous in The Prisoner, though American media magazines like Time and TV Guide stated the two were one in the same.)

Who is the prisoner? Who are his captors? What information does he hold? Will he ever be free? Now that AMC is remaking The Prisoner, viewers will have another chance to find out. Though, of course, they won’t. Nevertheless, in the age of Lost and Flash Forward, the remake of The Prisoner may be right on time, instead of light years ahead of it, as it was in 1967.

The original series, best remembered for its ambiguity, cinematic techniques, and thought-provoking final episode, plays heavily on the fears of its time. It’s steeped in the rhetoric of the Cold War. The village is the commune, or the communist society, where names don’t matter and everyone pretends to be happy in public but is miserable in secret. Though all of their needs are provided for, there is no joy, and the only hope of climbing the social ladder is to be given a position by authorities. The philosophical and psychological drama of the show is whether McGoohan is in fact a free, autonomous individual — “my life is my own” — or whether he in fact is “a number” (communist!) not a “person.”

i found this very very REFRESHING 



British street artist Banksy is in Los Angeles for his Oscar-nominated film 'Exit Through The Gift Shop' - a documentary which he directed that tells the story of a man's obsession with street art that includes footage of such artists as Shepard Fairey, Invader and Banksy himself - and he hasn't wasted any time making his mark on the streets of LA and of course, causing a bit of a stir.

"one of the most talked about pieces in recent days has been an image of a drunken mickey mouse,
putting his arm around a scantily-clad model, with minnie mouse watching off to the side,
which bansky painted over a billboard advertisement for las vegas company the light group.
situated above norm's 76 petrol station located along the sunset strip, the art piece was removed today by the billboard's owner, CBS outdoor, even though the garage employees had offered to pay 10 000 USD to let it stay. CBS now claims that they own the bansky artwork, and there is no word on what is going to be done with it".

you just gotta love it 


the forums are having quite a field day regarding the piece, whether its ART or VANDALISM and so forth....just thought id share it with youl too...!

Producers - Production Showcase / whats behind the other door?

initially i produced this beat for "Sketches" an album im banging out with my homey SAGE, scheduled to drop round June/July under Audible Braile Entertainment....

but then i thought, nah, ive tossed SAGE nuff beats already, let me focus on producing for another album...ORIGINS is an album by myself (SAN) and my big homey THE JACKBOYZ (a producer from Spain)...the album will speak on a wide variety of subject matter ranging from the history of religious ideology, identity in a global community, politics, economics etc and will feature emcees from Africa & Spain...the general theme: "know your HISTORY"

altough this is not really a formal brief on the album, it should suffice in giving the interested a taste of what kind of material we banging out for it....

this is nothing formal, but i wanted the HEADS to know that we knee deep in the trenches with my big homey SAGE working on his upcoming e.p entitled "SKETCHES" to drop soon under Audible Braile Entertainment...the e.p will see SAGE on all the raps & myself, SAN, the Instru-Monumentalist on the BOARDS...!

some may remember SAGE from "SUNDAY MORNING"...a joint he laced over NYAMBZ's production back in the day during the "HAUNTED FORT" days with SCEPTRE....moreover, to the HEADS that might have downloaded the OFFICIAL cla**ic dirt PROMO, you can catch a glimpse of sage therein...!

anyhow, more info on the album will follow under a more formal capacity...just wanted to share with those interested how the production side of things are going regarding that tape...
