« on: December 22, 2009, 08:24:21 AM »
if anyone is like me then you must at times ask yourself where all the FEMALE EMCEES are  ???  :-\ like whats REALLY going ON with them...people like Bahamadia, Invincible, Eternia, are they still dishing out albums, are they really WINNING with their grind as EMCEES...

as so it happens, SOMEONE FINALLY grew a brain and decided to make a documentary on FEMALE EMCEES and their challenges in MUSIC TODAY....

THE REVIVAL is a documentary that follows a handful of female emcees through their EUROPEAN TOUR...(it DROPS SOON)

check out the trailer HERE:

check INVINCIBLE rocking that CROWD...............WHOA  :o

funny thing that the site hosting the doccie is called "the FEMba**y" and it refers to Female Emcees as FEMCEES, i always thought women felt that term was derogatory...oh well  ???  ::)

Masta Ace & Edo G - Arts & Entertainment

LINK REMOVED/?yjc3zuwivmx

Thank you very, very much.

MY GOD...this is a BEAUTIFUL ALBUM yo...! ive had it on rotation since the morning...features production from M PHAZES, DJ SPINNA and a coupla cats i didnt know of...but TRUST ME, their WORK IS STELLAR...teh beat production on this album alone is worth a HUGE MENTION...masta ACE & ed G are in my opinion THAT NEW tag team...IM talking they could easily take us back to the EPMD, DAZ EFX, LORD TARIQ, PETER GUZ, ERA...tehy feed of each other on this album...its PURE SYMBIOSIS...i liked it very much...

fav joints:

-A' & E's ft MArsha Ambroscious (produced by BABY DOOKS)........sick sick BEAT...!

"EDO, earned everythin far from easily,
equal to ACE so we split the pie up evenly
i stay fly like Emilia Airheart,
eclipse any emcee, within an earshot" (c) EDO G

-Little Young......Produced BY M PHAZES.......................the CONCEPT ALONE reminds me of that story telling, KRS ONE, GZA style of wordplay, where u use a word(s) this case "little & young" and make a whole story out of that..sick concept  ;)

"as a YOUNG EMCEE could i take the game over,
i sign with YOUNG MONEY get rich dumb easy

(whats crazy is that the "young" reference in his verse is part of a narration of how they see hiphop using actual emcces/establishments that use the word "young" in them or are known by)

-Reminds me.................produced by DJ Supreme One.................Supreme One cooked a summer banger with this one...its FRESH

- Black Ice (Interlude)...............this is just a crazy poem interlude...almost sounds like a spoof of sumin you would hear back on the roots or Nas albums wherer the break has a poet going hard at it...well done, not corney, fits!

- GOOD MUSIC ft Posdnuos & light.......Produced by DJ SPINNA............this is BY FAR my favourite JOINT on the album...its just what i needed to hear at the right time...very rea**uring of that people who care about  the integrity of music still exist and are going hard for what they appreciate...SPINNA is crazy for the beat on this jam...the JAZZY, Electronic synths just MURDER the vibe...too SICK!

- Over There....Produced by M Phazes

- Eig8ht is Enuf....Produced by Frank Dukes

-Here i Go Again........funny jam...BUT HITS HARD...reality...peep EDO G's verse, he opens the joint!

PEEP THE ALBUM OUT, if you havent already....its a NICE ONE  ;)

aight, no introductions, let me just say this is the HARDWARE THREAD...PUT HERE what ever piece of Equipment you just have to have in your arsenal AS A PRODUCER, suming that you just consider VITAL to making your work more efficient & of SUPERIOUR QUALITY....!

aight, let me start it off...

Akai MPK25 25 Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller

"The Akai Professional MPK25 is a portable keyboard controller with MPC production controls. Based closely on the MPK49, the first keyboard ever to feature MPC pads, the MPK25 scales down the keyboard by 24 keys and retains the utility, capability, and flexibility that makes the MPK49 one of the world's hottest keyboards. Its smaller, more portable size makes the MPK25 the perfect travel companion. Its small footprint can fit in your lap on the couch or on a plane, enabling you to create tracks whenever inspiration strikes. All you need is your laptop and the MPK25"

"MPK25 combines a 25-key keyboard and 12 genuine MPC pads. The keyboard is semi-weighted and features aftertouch for expressive melodic control. The MPC pads are pressure and velocity-sensitive to capture every nuance of your creative concepts. The pads can access four banks of sounds, so you have 48 samples at your fingertips with the touch of a button.

MPK25 places dedicated transport controls within your reach for easy control of some of the most important tracking and editing controls. The MPK25 has modulation and pitch-bend wheels for expressive musicality, and two a**ignable footswitch inputs enable you to connect an expression pedal or other continuous controller and a footswitch for momentary controls like patch change or start/stop"

Movie Talk / ROCKERS 1978
« on: November 10, 2009, 02:46:12 PM »
so lastnight i was at my boy RAS G's house, you know, doing what it do, toking on that herb... ;D anyhow...RASTA has to have what is in my opinion the most concise collection of Rasta media ever, i mean this dude has everything, from books, to tapes, to dvds ..dude has it all...

its tradition that when you stop by his pad to a little R&R he puts on sumin for cats to watch and ponder on, either a ca**ette tape, some underground reggae concert or a flick...lastnight he dropped a flick on us...MAYN...

what ever you do, if you havent seen this movie GO OUT NOW AND LOOK FOR IT.....

and just incase you might think its some BS...hold your tongue...not only does this movie bring together some of the most prolific and talented raggae musicians of our time, it is a PRODUCER's HAVEN..yeah, i said it...YOU WILL BE AMAZED to find out how many of the PRODUCERS YOU RESPECT have borrowed and sampled from this movie's soundtrack, from the ba**, the drum loops, the horns and my favourite...the vocal clips!
