Hot Traxxx / SAN back on the mic with the REBBI
« on: March 23, 2009, 02:51:50 PM »
 :D

well ma nigga hit me up with a beat he did today, one of his signature 20 second demo beats that leave you aching for more but never get it until u write a full track to it...i liked it, so much in fact that i wrote sumin to it and decided to record it, its been a minute since i dusted of the mic and lace sumin down...its not the best recording under the sun, but its the first ive done in a long time.

the track which is all written down now still has to be properly recorded, this is just sumin i broke him off with so he can a**ess the direction i want to take with it...

this is just a demo of the track, a snippet's snippet, if Rebbi is diggin on it we will record the full song...tell me what you think, il up the full, mixed & mastered track soonuff if its green lit  ;)..

Movie Talk / APPALOOSA

how come no one here has even mentioned this film...ED Harris is at it again, and this time he is meaner than ever...just finished watching this and all i have to say is OMG :o :o :o

dont know why but although its a Western, the opening scenes and the desert scenes had me thinking about No country for Old Men. its a very very good film to watch if you want to escape from the mafia flicks, hitman/jason bourne story lines...

"bad a**" at its best!!!!!  8)

Movie Talk / Clint Eastwood's GRAN TORINO
« on: February 26, 2009, 11:39:19 PM »
has anyone here seen this monster of a movie?

well in any event, i have grown to have a lot of respect for Clint Eastwood, both as an actor and as a director, im not going to say much about this film until i get someone else's view on it. my personal opinion though is that it is a masterfully executed film that goes head first into some situations most film makers have trouble and even fear discussing let alone putting on the movie screens...

Hot Traxxx / Optic, Epoch AND Phil the KRITIK
« on: February 12, 2009, 06:42:18 PM »
Peace!

Not so long ago i introduced to the handful of emcees that i have had the pleasure and opportunity of building with in the city of Grahamstown to super producer Phil the KRITIK...through his beats and unfortunate not personally, Phil and the two emcees im about to tell you about came to understand each other and have respect for each other's work...however, it must be said that Phil is yet to hear the track im posting here today...its hot of the presses  8)

Optic Nerve (the EYE witness) is one half of the two man squad SUPREMACY with fellow brethren Epic, both from Grhamstown...With Optic on this track is Epoch who with fellow emcee Emphasis call themselves REFUTE SKILLZ. both emcees are arguably right there among the best emcees in the G, articulate, witty and adorned with spectacular FLOW. and FLOW my people is what i want you to listen for on this track....

getting down to it, here it is:

Legends in the Making: Optic Nerve, Epoch & Phil the KRITIK

Producers - Production Showcase / On my new version of REASON
« on: February 05, 2009, 08:11:28 PM »
recently i was suprised by a very good friend of mine. he's turned into that good of a friend primarily because he gave me the 4th version of the super sequencer that is REASON by the software company Properllorheads  :D

just playin, he's been my dawg for a minute now...anyhow, i got my hands on this marvel of a programe not so long ago and i got straight into it...i made something for youl to hear and give feed on. the beat is the first i did on the new programe and i have Sponge Bob to thank for the samples...

all what you will here besides the main sample of strings and Mobb Deep is REASON, the drums, the ba**, the slight trumpet at the end of each fourth bar and the synths...this programe is by far one of the best players in the game and what ive done here is merely a shadow of the work i have since done from the initial time i received it...

tell me what you think.... ;)

Has anybody here seen this MONSTER of a Production? ANYONE?

this has to be one of the most worth mentioning films to come out this year. it is mayhem, action, gore and the unafraid blood splatter techniques Quentin Tarantino is known for.

i recall a thread that discussed most of his works, talk was mainly about how unoriginal and similar his films are... the film for me had one main downside. watching it you can almost expect to see Beatrix kiddo and some kill bill Vivica/eye patch bitch stepping out from the hidden angle of the camera to lay the final kill :(. its too similar in technique and camera execution to some of his earlier work and thus you feel like you can predict whats about to happen next. another thing that might add to the nostalgia si the fact that some of the characters used in his earlier films are present in this movie too.

apart from that if you havent seen it. GO OUT NOW AND CHECK IT OUT. the action, the blood, the ruthless biker gangs  and all that isht is INSANe

but wait a minute, the twist...ITS NOT tarantino, its LArry Bishop....hmmmmmm, the apprentice perhaps...styles are very very similar

Producers - Production Showcase / introspection
« on: December 17, 2008, 08:45:17 PM »
i made a beat for the first time in a long time today. ive come full circle in one particular aspect of my life's journey, a journey that although is at best personal,  has its pleasures bountiful and burdens light when traveled with someone else on a mutual quest. this piece of music is inspired by love, by love found & love lost. i hope you like it ;)

i call it Introspection, and yes, some feed would be nice :D

General Discussion / Kelis CHEATS on Nas
« on: December 03, 2008, 02:17:17 PM »
i just got wind of this and i a**ure you im as shocked as you proberbly are as you read this. as it turns out Nasier jones done wifed himself another trick. Kelis who is Nas's current wife was caught on camera boning some ova dude. the nigga in question is no jay z, hes infact a 2nd rate rap citizen, member of the ruff ryder clique, he made an appearance on the ruff ryder vol 1 tape, he goes by the name of Infra Red...2nd rate or not, he obviously was good enough to tap on that milkshake booty  :-[...sad really.

now for the thomases in the house this is not a rumour jack, its fact, im just sad i dont have the vid here for youl, do ur own research, im sure it wont be that too hard to confirm.

my question to youl is this; what the f*** is wrong with this nigga that all of his women get snatched from him, is he that wack in the sack? To make it worse, he done tagged this woman's face on his arm opposite a bible script  :-\

smh @ these whores!

General Discussion / MC Lyte: the Wonder years (produced by DJ Premier)
« on: November 29, 2008, 02:30:53 PM »
now we all know that back in the day when u dropped a HipHop record, one of the prerequisites to making a hit would be to get Premo on it. i mean premo was and to a certain degree still is today responsible for launching the careers of many in the HipHop industry. flipping thru a coupla blogs looking for some ol skool material i came across one very interesting fact, MC LYTE is back, back like she never left and this time she brought reinforcements.

she got a new album out and a video out with a track produced by none other than DJ premier himself.

check it out on this link, who knows, you might even find some other interesting records there to choose from.ONE, jus spreading the knowledge....

Producers - Remix Showcase / Royce and I
« on: November 18, 2008, 01:04:00 AM »
working almost more on the music than i am on my own school work i find that it becomes almost a natural process, almost like yawning at wackness... :D ...but shying away from the dramatic explanations leme just tell you what this is all about...

i worked on the first bars of royce's Boom joint, its nice but with all the remixes ive done so far for the RE-Invention project it didnt make the cut...not that its weak or anything, it jus didnt fit in with the theme...i guess its a more braggadoccio San and not the collaborative one...lol...

tell me what you think... ;)
