correct me if im wrong god but i belive your talkin bou the Wu-tang torture skit, if so, i hav to agree, the delivery of bloody expression did eminate from early sources. but in the M.E.F's case (thats if ur refering to the skit) or even his albums for that matter, a message of conciencious narration filled with positivity is still entailed...some ofcourse might argue that expression is expression and releasin a battery of Lps filled with bloody raps that celebrate pacimism is artistic, if so, to each his own...

ive listened to necro and the catz from uncle howie records for a while now, i mean dont get me wrong, dudes got mad mic skill, Necro, nice with the beats.... but what are they really saying...except delivering to us newer and more grotesque ways of killing people and shootin up heron, what other "message" are they bringin to the table...scoped out this one interview o Bill and Necro on youtube, catz seemed clueless of what the f*** they were tryin to convey in their music, Necro was on some ish like "you see a paintin of flowers in a vase and you call it art, i see a picture of a dudes head layin in a pool of his own blood and i call that art"....i mean f***, how twisted and demented can you be to say that kinda shit and actually applaud the fact that your fans slit their wrists at your concerts...peeple keep sayin nelly an em are f***in up the culture (not sayin they innocent) but what about the evolution of "torture rap"

hip hop as a culture is the ultimate tool of expression. encapsulated in its diffrent principles is the ability to voice out one's opinion of the now, fostering the journey towards knowledge of self and all that is around you  ...thus with capability and eloquence creating a way for its apprentice to reach out to both the old and the young, sharing lessons learnt in one's travels through life. whether a grafwriter, a beatmaker or a controler of the mic apparatus, we are blessed to have it. it is science, philosophy, mathematics, religion and all the academia delivered with speech, paint, beat and heart. IT IS LIFE.....
