As most people know, Black Noise is one of South Africas Pioneer Hip Hop Groups. In fact, Black Noise is still going strong and are planning to celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a launch at the Baxter and then a 20 leg tour through out the Western Cape and followed by a national and international tour in 2009.

Black Noise released 9 album, where only the first one was released through a record label. That was Pumpi'Loose Da Juice in the early 90's. That was followed by Rebirth, Black Facts (released in St Louis, Missouri, USA) Questions, Hip Hop Wont Stop, Circles of Fire, Rotational High, Jam Sessions and Getcha on the Floor. Black Nosie will be releasing Volume one of a Best of Black Noise series, DVD and documentary. The groups list of achievements over the years have been legendary and they set the bar for live performances with their concept of the "All Elements hip hop show" that was followed abd copied by many others. For more information on Black Noise please watch out for the re-launch of www.blacknoise.co.za

Tickets for the 20th Anniversary to be held at the Baxter, can be purchased at Computicket from this Friday. OR cal heal the Hood Offices at 021 7060481 to ensure you booking. Also on the bill at the 20th is Hybrid Dance Crew, Immortal Styles, Abada Capoeira, Emile YX? and Heal the Hood developmental dance groups.

Its R40 per day and we decided to charge for cameras because people copy and sell footage to others. This way they paid for it and they can do with is as they wish. We plough all the money back into events throughout the year and in this way they contribute to help us teach more b-boys ... They take what others create and give so that more can be created.

Hope that explains that ... Heres the programme for both days and the year plan of what will happen with the money that is generated from the event:-

Heal the Hood Project has hosted this event since 1997 and paid for more than 85 dancers to go to the World Champs in Germany. Each year we have spent the money raised on taking hip hop around the country, hosting this event and buying flights for the SA Team. This year we have decided to plough our peoples’ money into developmental workshops and activities in South Africa. This will see money from Hip Hop and our communities being ploughed back into our communities and empowering hip hop artists.

We feel that it is time to develop the next generation of Hip Hoppers in South Africa and wish to encourage youth to support what is created in our communities and country and in that way generate an income from performances and local shows.
How funds raised will be spent for the next year
