HIP-HOP music sensation Jub Jub will sing his way into the history books.

Jub Jub has been chosen to perform the official 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup anthem.

Jub Jub, whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye, was approached by the 2010 local organising committee to compose and sing a song that would “mobilise the country to rally behind the preparations for the World Cup”.

The 2010 song, called “Ke Nako” — a Sesotho phrase meaning “It is Time” — was introduced to the media on Monday night in conjunction with the unveiling of the 2010 mascot, Zakumi.

“The song is an inspiration to all South Africans. I sing about our beautiful, diverse country, different lifestyles and cultures.

“The song is for young and old — and it is going to rock,” said the rapper.

He told The Times that the song represents the “melting-pot of diversity we have in the country”, particularly because it is multi-lingual, featuring lyrics in Sotho, Zulu, English and Afrikaans.

Jub Jub said he wanted to inspire the nation to be confident about the event being a success.

A countrywide tour to promote the 2010 song and get the nation feeling festive in the run-up to the event is on the cards.

anybody know who is standing in while they decide who will take the reins?

baleka mbete (Speaker of the National a**embly) would stand in

new reports indicate that the ANC would prefer Kgalema Motlanthe to lead the country for the next few months with Lindiwe Sisulu as deputy President.....

He is gone.

I wonder how Madiba is feeling about all of this.

My theory is that Madiba adviced him to step down without a fight cos then Mbeki would go down with the whole arms deal saga buried. They just tryin to shiled as many people (globally influential people at that) as possible. Mbeki was just the first casualty....

Education is the key and zuma does not have that key.

HAHA! What does this mean?

Means his education ended in 19(whatever) when he was in standard 6...ie grade 8......then he will tell us all to go to school and get an education.....

So now he has resigned, now what?????

I just like the fact that in hes speach yesterday, he once again made it clear that he didnt have anything to do with Zumas case

mbeki intrigues me... no emotion whatsoever in the state of nation address. i think he was a better leader than jacob zuma will ever be.

technically he hasnt reisigned yet. the anc will tell him when to hand in the resignation.

I saw some emotion last nyt. He started off upbeat...and he eventually had to hold it all in incase he choked. He tore at my heart strings....hai

Guess we will find out today about the repercusions following the presidents' resignation. I don't think any of the cabinet ministers are gona bow out. I seriously hope that Trevor Manuel stays.

I also don't think that there will be a nucler party formed from Mbeki and his allies. He dedicated half a century to the ANC....he won't walk out on them....it would be interestign if he did.....but that's just wishful thinking
