With all the DA f*** ups I really though if anything it would be close race between DA and ANC in the Western Cape but no, DA is so far ahead they may as well start celebrating now.

about the City of Johanessburg, kanti what do the demographics look like there that the DA is currently leading??

Lyrics
“Selfish Politics” (Slumvillage  - “Selfish”) Remix
Written: Reason
Album: “WenzTheAlbumCuminOut?Mixtape” (2009)

They said: Vote for me, vote for us
Vote for a better life and for the party you trust
Vote for jobs, health care and poverty cuts
But 5 years from now, we’ll still be voting for such

They promise people alotta relevant things
Stressin that things - will be better if veterans win
But then in the end, the government’ll battle again
Coz they plannina win your votes with celebrity spins

(Ha!) -and that ‘s what breaks my heart now
pops fought for a freedom he ain’t felt since he got out
Raising us now, seems harder coz he got out
To see cats he ran with, snatch water from dry mouths

-But wait! Let’s take some time out
And give props to everything the governments piled out
Child support grants, power cuts and how bout’
Fake a** condoms and some 45 houses

-Ok! Maybe 45 thousand
In 4 to 5 towns, you can afford with 5 000
the force of 5000 shouting!
f*** the Gautrain we got falling down, falsified house

-And then u tell me vote for ya!
Vote Zille, vote Lektota, vote Zuma
Vote coz it’s what we fought for and “vote coz ahhh…
…If you vote for me, I’ll rob and not kill ‘em”

So I say - f*** the government!
f*** whoever’s the cause informal settlements
The devil is runnin this city metro police
And all we gotta show for it, is ink on thumb on ya shit

-Thinking I’m dumb and shit!
After 2010 we might be where Zimbabwe is
And you’ll also be laughing in ‘em garden chairs
Sippin on them cheers, drowning in ya selfish

Hook x4
Politician’s is selfish/
Ya wannit to ya’self you can’t help it/

heavy.

RR, are you voting and if you are, who for, if you don't mind me asking?

just like my uncle said, "I'm still thinking what it is that I can do with my free time"

it sounded better and funny in xhosa though. no bro, im not waisting my time voting for nobody. if I did vote, i'd maybe just donate my vote to the PAC. just for the hell of it.

Politics / Re: Understanding the Libyan Uprisings
« on: May 17, 2011, 11:53:52 AM »
Tonight I might have an opportunity to meet up with a journalist who was in Libya. I'm interested in what he has to say about the situation there. Will share with you guys tomorrow.

I remember discussing about the crisis in Libya with my barber last month. Just when
I was discussing about how Qaddaffi was switching his accusations of the protests, my
barber easily switched to Qaddaffi's side and explained why. He, as a follower of the
Nation of Islam (a sect that has been considered to practice Islam through a "Black
Supremesist" perspective), told me and another person of how Qaddaffi supported
Louis Farahkahn (the leader of the Nation of Islam) and donated money to the group.
The money was supposed to fund banks in urban areas in the US to support African
American communities but the FBI threatened the banks to not accept the donations
or they would be forced to close.

What he was explaining to me wasn't really news to my ears because I knew that
the Libyan government has been friends of the NOI since the '70s, when it was
ruled by Elijah Muhammed. I, at one time admired Qaddaffi because he was one
of the only African leaders who resisted American influence and Western control
during that time. I later saw him as another African dictator when I looked at the
many years of power he has had and when he gave up his weapons to the US.

Interesting.

Anybody noticed on TV last night the Trompies dude at the union buildings addressing protesters as a "government spokesperson"?

Which political party were they defending? Was it Spikiri on TV?

Eugene Mthethwa. he was representing the gorvenment as a spokeperson.

There are two many quotables for the second one. I was in stitches.

Kwaito is almost dead due to house music why would you pick on it now?  ;D

Also, I found that the south african hiphop community was very quiet about Andreas Tetane. How are we going to diss kwaito then? Thats just hypocritical.

Kwaito may be dead in SA but it is alive and kicking in
  Namibia!!!

True. I think its the same in Mozambique but yes definitely more so in Namibia. Dope dope beats too!
