Hot Traxxx / This can't be life...
« on: June 29, 2005, 12:12:39 AM »
It's like '93 '94,/ 'bout the year that Big and Mac dropped/ Illmatic rocked outta every rag drop/And the West had it locked/ Everybody doin' them/ I'm still scratching on the block/ Like Damn "I'ma be a failure"/ Surrounded by thugs, drugs and paraphanelia/
Just thinking now, how them lines have stuck in my head for years and keep playing in my head when sh*$ gets frustrating. Always remembering the journeys the greats have walked to get to where they are is what one needs to do.

Thank God in Rap, you can get first hand/first person testimonials from these people, without having to go buy say a Donald Trump book for R180.

General Discussion / NAS/NORE funny

Goodlooking at the people at hiphopgame.com for the funniest piece of news I've readi in a while.

Rumor has it that God's Favorite took it to God's Son at Puffy's party yesterday. Apparently N.O.R.E. hit Nas in the head with a flower pot. Yes, a flower pot.
No word yet on what they were arguing about, possibly botany or whether "Melvin Flint" or "Nastradamus" was a worst album...but apparently Nas took a pot to the dome. HipHopGame knows one thing...that's not the type of pot Nas expected at Puffy's party!

Once again this concert brought the goods.
Look out for the FULL REsurfaceed/ RE-HEATED/ very MUCH official
GAME VS 50/GUNIT

GAme used his set as a whole dissin spree- how does the good doc handle the friction at AFTERMATH now. Coz it's on.  8) Beef records are like blockbusters u anticipate, when is it coming..when is it coming.

Thanks to Game for getting the ball rolling.   :D

The crowd started to warm up to Game more and more as he continued to use his platform to try and humiliate his former business a**ociates. The lanky MC even threw a G-Unit chain he once wore proudly into the audience like it nothing more than a used tissue going into a garbage can.

"I don't follow suit like f----t a** Yayo," Game roared. He later threatened to "knock out" Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks.

Taken off an American Blog after they peeped Luda's video shot in Durban;

Quote
My verdict after seeing the footage is simple:

Those African models are gorgeous!

I felt a little ashamed that I didn't realize there are beautiful women on that continent before. But hey, can you blame me for my ignorance? Every time I see African women on TV they're either scrawny and topless with a basket on their head, or are starving and have flies buzzing around their face.

So, props to Luda and his team for making a quantum leap in the way Black women are portrayed in the media.

8O See how much work needs to be done. It's not the level of music no more, it's the effective and efficient selling of our isht that will break into this market. The general public over there still thinks we riding elephants, then try telling them oh there's this john blaze track poppin over here. :x

General Discussion / Donald Trump on Gunit Radio this week
« on: May 16, 2005, 05:13:10 PM »
Trump admiring DJ WhooKid's marketing savy enough to accept making an appearnace on the Sirius' GUnit Radio Show.

Side bar: Even Common is enilsting Whookid to drop a mixtape before he's already cla**ic-before-it's-released album.

These 2 things say alot.

G Unit machine ignant?   I think they're Gorilla Unit Marketing 101 could show us hip hop heads how to move these units in Africa.

Did ya'll read that?

That's straight up truth for peeps who don't have anything but 4 complete songs in a "rhyme book" to show for their "love for hip hop" yet are the first to stand in line throwing stones.

The hustle is not a joke. Like Dplanet once said, "can't hate on a fellow artist putting food on the table".

As the cliche says, "real recognize real". My hat off to the Buttabing Minds. They did it, still doing it.

See Buttabing if our paths cross. Hustle ON!

"Hip Hop is ours from Dallas..... .... they scout us...." -Phantum Slick

Let me be the first to call it, judging from the "dirty south bounce" in the latest album and the recent revelation that Luda is a fan of SK, and the upcoming collabo at the MTV concert- AS SOON AS Buttabing can get out of the Gallo contract, I think SLick and them are gonna strike a lucrative dewal with Distrubing the Peace, and hence the floodgates of hip hop from S.A into American stores. 2,3,4 years. Watch.

Yours sincerely
The Watcher,
T.

General Discussion / M.O.P. on G Unit
« on: April 11, 2005, 07:29:01 PM »
I know that pisses a lot of people off.
But did you know Talib Kweli is Fiddy's favourite rapper.
Now Fiddy is trying to sign M.O.P. since MOP can't get DAME & JAY to collabo on their project.

WHo thinks this would be a bad idea/good idea. Why?

There's just some lines I tend to ignore and keep boping my head, but never forget coz to this day I'm like, "what the hell was that supposed to mean?" Hence the CAN-I-bus line awards...you might have more cash than me/but you ain't got the skills to eat a niggaz a** like me(ref: diss to LL..or maybe trying to entice him for something disgusting. Eww.

--CAN-I-Bus line awards

That this Gay-Z and Cockafella Records wanted beef
Started cockin up my weapon, slowly loadin up this ammo
To explode it on a camel, and his soldiers, I can handle
- Nas Ether, too this day, I'm perplexed that I was the only one shocked by the gay imagery Nas paints here.  8O It was blatanly set up by speeling out Gay and "Cock"afella wanted "beef".

Once I got you I'mma give you my, my 4 4 4 4, I'ma give it to ya nice and slow - Fat Joe's chorus on the latest F*ck50 diss track

I got my short jeans on and I'm feeling all tight - One of the SK cats on Mukhuku Funkshen album, track about a good day or something.

Honourable mention GAME Memphis Bleek can suck my d*ck/Jay-Z can suck my d*ck/Roc-a-fella can suck my d*ck -I've always maintained since I was a pre-teen boy, that a male referring to other males to suck his **** is gay. Hard rapper or not (NO pun intended), it's just gay.

The CAN-I-Bus line awards will continue.

A few years ago a little known rapper is trying to get on and scores a verse on a JLo remix. 1 phone call from an angry Irv Gotti sees the verse removed and replaced by a Nas verse.
This week those two entities release new albums respectively again.
JLo being one debutes with under 200 000/300 000 (same difference).
The little known rapper snubbed comes out 1.1 mill. 50 Cent.
The same people you step on, on your way up, are the same people you meet agina on your way down -Now about calling Fiddy for that verse on a new remix :?

Geek Section / MMS virus to your phone
« on: March 10, 2005, 02:50:35 PM »
"The first mobile phone virus capable of riffling through a phone book and automatically sending a copy of itself to uninfected phones has been discovered by anti-virus researchers.

It packages itself in a file and sends itself via a type of the enhanced text message service known as MMS - or multimedia messaging service - commonly used to send photos, sound or video clips.

"This is the first time we have seen a spreading mechanism like this," said Matias Impivaara of F-Secure. "It is clearly more efficient."

:? Well. They better make some type of condom-style-system to load in our errr...put onto our sms/mms settings.
