I think my fav Rakim rhyme would be "Follow the Leader" or  "Paid in Full"

wait... what about "In the ghetto"?

Ra owes us another album. Kane, Kool G-Rap and Krs are still recording so there's no excuse.

Hot Traxxx / Black Market Militia - Cover
« on: March 29, 2005, 04:23:49 AM »
Black Market Militia

In the current state of hip-hop, where artists often collaborate for the sake of money or publicity, few rappers come together on projects with real direction and purpose. Even less are those emcees who join forces to present a clear message, touching topics of universal relevance like politics, religion, economics, and revolution.

Things are about to change, there is a sense of urgency in the air. Enter Black Market Militia, the brainchild of two different emcees, from two different crews, from two different boroughs, whose common goal is the persuit knowledge and wisdom and to spread these beliefs through the medium of hip hop.

Killah Priest is best known for his close affiliation with the
Wu-Tang Clan and as a founding member of Sunz of Man. Having first appeared on Old Dirty Bastard's solo debut "Return to the 36 Chambers" and the GZA's "Liquid Swords", Priest released his solo debut "Heavy Mental" in 1998 to much critical and commercial acclaim. He's been an integral player on the Wu-Tang Clan's projects and still continues to present his unique rhyme style, covering topics too deep to be articulated by most MCs.

Tragedy Khadafi's impact on hip hop is just as undeniable. As a
member of the Juice Crew (Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Kool G Rap), Tragedy released his debut album, "Intelligent Hoodlum", in 1990, which was entirely produced by the legendary Marley Marl. Arguably the innovator of the early 90's queensbridge rhyme rennaisance, "Trag" layed the groundwork and helped launch the careers of artists who would follow in his footsteps such as Nas, Mobb Deep, and Capone & Noreaga.

Features from Timbo King (Royal Fam, Wu-Tang Affiliate) and Hell
Razah (Sunz of Man, Wu-Tang Affiliate) help to round out the lineup on this remarkable album. Both have been featured on many gold & platinum Wu-Tang Clan projects, as well their own individual work. Their street savvy lyrics and no holds barred delivery prove to be the cohesive glue in creating this new millenium masterpiece.

Consistent with their previous work, Black Market Militia delivers a loud, powerful and coherent group effort focused on social, political and spiritual issues. Educating their listeners, with a sense of urgency, about current affairs of the world we live in. With bangin' beats and seamless lyrical synergy, Black Market has given birth to the dawn of a new era in hip hop.

Planet Asia is like the underground version of Tupac. His work ethic is crazy. I can hardly keep up with his releases but I will make sure to pick this up.

its the one where they keep chanting "The Streets!" after every bar or so?

I dig that song.

I think its on the Giancania Story album. It sounds like something from Kool G Rap's Rawkus days.

Do you guys have No.ID's solo album, "BE Yourself and Accept your Own: The Black Album" ?

Doug E. Infinite features on a lot of tracks but Common Sense makes only one(dope!) appearance. It should have blown up if Biggie didnt come out with his "sky is the limit" track. :x

I need to find my copy

Anyway looking foward to this new album but I hope Kanye sticks to doing hooks if he feels like he has to get on the mic.

Its pushed till June.

Chino Xl next month!
