First listen got a very lukewarm reception from my music appreciation senses.
Can't quite place it, but something is amiss.
I cringe during the singing and talking parts.

I agree with everything you are saying Thato. We all should be able to be responsible and accountable in making this place we call home a better place. As we get older we question things and find ways to make the memory of having being alive - significant.
I do find however that we increasingly live for ourselves. The collective is the other. The collective is elusive. We create barriers all the time.  What does it have to do with me? It is non of my business, I'm tryna just survive. What power do I have anyways?
How do we discover/instill/encourage/inspire that need in people?
This is a start of course, but I just wanna talk about how do you ignite that change/path/direction/  first in individuals and then at community level.

TB doesn't have to kill anyone.
Testing and medication are free and even if you have HIV/ AIDS and contract TB, TB is still curable.

Thanks Tate.
The only material I've ever heard is Live a little with B. Sharpa and some freestyles from UCT radio. So definitely downloading this once I hit the office.

My cam got jacked so I ain't pix to prove it bt the memories of the craziness are fresh in my head. This was my third and best BTTC. Haven't had this much fun since new years.
Ms Deane and TT you rock!

Federation- Revolution!!! Carlito and Neon, release now so we can cop!
Last Days Fam - gets better every time I see 'em
PO and that dude, I dig the experiementation and effort with the concept.
TUMI - yessir! Professional this guy.
Zaki- I can't believe Pebbles was doing back up vocals and synchronising dance moves, it's not right! I went up to her afterwards and told her, nah, U a headline act. I couldn't not sing and dance along though, Ms Deane made sure of that. Was the other back up Kethi?

Trompie tahnks for the CD.
I thought I was a fader
Panic you was a no show

Alternative opinions help things to evolve. I wanted to know so I could understand where you coming from and you have raised valid points.

There's something beautiful about the strong affiliation and sense of owership we feel with regards to our underground expression platforms. The love for the music, the culture.

I would like to know though, is there no room in SA hiphop  for the commercial sound to co-exist with the underground? To share stages? Do we feel threatened that they will take over? That sponsors will want to see more of them and less of the music we love?
