Man, u just jogged my memory banks with that subject heading. The Doc is in the building. That Doc Greeno´s was tight back then.I liked them Cypress boys.

First time I heard Insane in the Brain I was thinking these peeps were tripping but I came round soon and thought it was different and madd tight.B-Real has one of the most unique voices and a nice flow too.His guesting on Dre´s aftermath album, with the track "East Coast/West Cost" was just too tight.

Yeah D, I agree Rock Superstar is a tight one. Also like the flip side one Rap Superstar.Nice beat.Speaking bout Cypress, u guys remember that track from the Muggs Soul a**a**ins 2 album with GZA?Dont know why I´m thinking of that now, but that was a killa track right there.Fat lady sings.Madd.

What u think was the best Cypress Hill album?Much luv.

No Doubt!

I second that thought Syntactic. We mos def gotta educate and communicate more with our other african siblings and let em know we all in this hip hop game together and all wanna elevate and bring Africa to the fore.

Big ups to all acts that seem to be underrated. Its sad that good quality always seems to be shoved to the side to make way for stuff like 50 and the G-Unit troop. We should try and reverse that pattern and the best way is to support each other and build ourselves up and let the industry know we not playing games. We coming as a united front and we here to win and bring the truth.Str8 up.

Also, big ups to the Faculty of Hip Hop, GHETTO PIMP, Staple Feud, Ancient Men and overseas peeps like Doug Evans and Mountain Brothers, to mention a few, still bringing the truth.Lets take it up a notch.

Much luv.

General Discussion / Where the Femcees Female Emcees @?

Hey AristoKat

R u currently doing anything poetry-wise?I mean, working on projects and so on?

Also, regarding the whole emcee/poetess thing, if ur more comfy writing deep introspective thoughts down in rhyme form rather than freestyling, that doesnt make u less of an emcee, I feel. Not everyone is the same, and its that difference that helps us to learn from each other and respect each other´s individual skills. At the end of it all, the listener wants to be taken on a trip with the music as the perfect backdrop and vehicle to get it across. If u can freestyle, thats good for u.But if not, then thats fine too. Some peeps r better freestylers than writers, others are the opposite.

So ya, but big up to the ladies doing their thing and holding their own.Its tight like that.Keep it up.Much luv.

Hey Ootz

How u doing cuz?Glad to hear peeps are coming around to my man 37mph.He´s been doing his thing since way back.

He signed to Ghetto Ruff a few months back and is currently working on his own album too. He´s sort of the Kanye West of Ghetto Ruff.If you thought anything u heard a few months back is tight of his, supposedly his skills have tripled and he´s so efficient with the creativity too. He´s very tight with Eeshaam September of Good Hope fm as well as Staple Feud, emcee featured on Ghetto Bootleg Vol.1.He used to have a show on UCT radio friday eve´s called Wreck Shop but then eventually got to sign with Ghetto Ruff and is how up in Jozi.

Very nice guy, met him when he interviewed Mizchif for the Supernatural album. He produced that one for Miz, but he´s gone beyond that now as far as production goes.Working with RJ Benjamin on his album, produced for Zubz´ album, Zola and Ishmael wrapping up with him too.He did an interview which is on the net where u get to know him better as well.I cant remember the site, but i´ll try and find it again. Also, hoping to get him to possibly do a track for Staple Feud. She´ll be in contact with him for that next year I guess.

Hope thats a mouthful already. Also, just like Kanye, his album is currently on hold while he finished production work for affliates. But when it comes, I´m sure its gonna rock.Much luv.

Hey Brick

I think u referring to Godessa.I was at both the DP concerts, well at least the second one was Black August. But ya, the first one was the first time I heard and saw EJ von Lyric rhyme and I gotta say, she killed it.And as a group, she along with Burni and Shame r a tight unit. They can hold their own.

When talking to them, they dont like the female emcee tag. They just wanna be known as emcees. So says many emcees who happen to be female.

But ya, they r tight.
