Seen this before.Interesting read, from the famous train incident.Remember the part with Marius Weyers as the conductor on the train, in the movie version starring Ben Kingsley?Yeah, that part.

Anyways, subsequently, as he grew older, he grew wiser.......shouldnt judge ppl on the past actions or quotes.......though its good to take note of what was.But good note though, to others that may want to look at the read.

As for Uncle Thabo........he that dude.Don't front on our fav uncle. He coming thru strong. He more than likely has read this before.......wont be surprised.

Media / October's Hype Magazine [First Mizi Edition]
« on: October 14, 2006, 12:37:16 AM »
And why isnt there a feature in this issue on my NON-EXISTANT hip hop career? The nerve of HYPE Mag to not include my extremely irrelevant information.

For real though, must admit, I have not yet gotten to any store of any form to buy any real magazine of any sort.I'm keen to have a look at the issue, with it being the first of many great ones.Congrats on the issue Mizi.I look forward to commenting, in due course.I'm sure its good.

Mr C, I like ur Columns suggestion i.e. technical info and all.Gives it a whole new dimension.Though, we gotta remember HYPE isnt really on a Scratch tip, though a small section on this could be really useful for ppl who wan get into this game and step their own quality up a notch.

Oh and yeah, Bexta info'd me that the Proverb track is on the HYPE CD.Apparently its the track produced by the one and only HIPE.How pun-straddling is that........HIPE in HYPE. Big ups.

Oh yes, one more thing,........that point that Sduhla made bout SA ppl making moves abroad is a valid one.Perhaps, some sort of network could be created to keep Mizi and the HYPE team abreast regarding what's happening outside of SA and the moves that ppl are making.Once confirmation has been made, the team can then do the necessary work that needs to be done to get articles or features knocked out.

Anyways, looking forward to checking this one and officially purchasing it. :)

All very good tips for sure.Nice pointers and I am in agreement right there with MrC.U gotta utilize opportunities and try and hustle for other ways of compensation and ways to get ur name out there via their project or what have u.

If u got a project coming out, get it in writing (if thats possible) that they'll feature on ur project. That's a good promo for ur project as they have built up a reputable name for themselves. The 'single' route might be pushing it a bit, but its a worthwhile try.U never quite know.

Another aspect is the SAMRO one that Dplanet pointed out.Get urself official and try and get some royalties from radio spins and perhaps tv spins. Also, the Dplanet route to selling to labels, thats a good one right there.Just get ur hustle on.Once u place ur first track on a good project, it makes things a little easier and u can start commanding a bit of ends, plus some publishing too......if things go well. Its all bout the hustle as Dplanet alluded to.

phone her label. get them to do it in writing.

ask SAMRO OR SARRAL

Good suggestions. Also, perhaps check who her publisher is.Good way to get at her and see if u can work something out.Alternatively, just sell the track overseas in some obscure market and hope it never gets played in SA.

But seriously though, if the vibe with the concept and idea and u can get a dialogue going with Judith and her ppl, it may come to something useful.Do speak to SARRAL and SAMRO too. They will be able to help, its their duty to.

Yeah, that HYPNO track is pretty wild.HIPE's the man on that beat. That's my boy right there doing his thang.

Regarding Jitz, he's signed to High Voltage Entertainment which is Grenville Williams' label. The same label Godessa's signed to.U can hit Grenville up as to getting at Jitz.As for HIPE, yeah, just hit him up on the PM.Good way to get in touch with him.

Maddstone you must have good connections to chat to Danny K...?

 Not actually. But I know a bud of mine's mum is well aquainted with DK's mom.Perhaps via that route I could get to talk 2 him and see whats cooking. He's got potential to really go further than where he is now....I think.

I know Skwatta Kamp is on. I got a promo copy of their new single

Is it me or does it sound like Will Smith's 'Switch?????????'

Danny K will probably be the first r&b cat on the label, but I'd rather sign RJ Benamin for that real heat and talent...

Yeah, RJ must move from Ghetto Ruff.He need madd exposure.Great artist.Kinda Thicke-ish.Btw, I need to speak to Danny K some time, if I can a moment..........think he gotta go back to his initiall image.Suited him well and garnered many fans.Plus, think he could do with working with a producer I know.

Yeah, not bad at all.Like the "Rump Shaker" sax. Anyways, main sample was used in Rasa**ination as well of Ras Ka**.HIPE actually did a hot beat with that sample too, few months back.Wonder if he's ever gonna drop it.Its pretty nice though.Different feel to this, but hot.Nice speedy vibe. 8)

Yep, Hi-Tek's album should be more high profile I think with his a**ociation with Aftermath and his sound being more on radio than before. However, its still good old Hi-Tek and it should be a hot one.
