i begin with the disclaimer this time and as such you have been warned.

disclaimer: im going to go on a tangent


i was just wondering just now. trying to fit this into a space. like hmmm. where. like since we make such a big deal of spending so much time talking about women. there perhaps needs to be a mother of the universe thread like. i think chicks are pretty fabulous myself.

its two things really. one that as girls we like to sit on the sidelines and lament stuff when its like but there we are sitting on the sidelines complaining. when we do not take it upon ourselves to use spaces. to a**ume the power to do so and the power in doing so. sometimes it seems like we expect men to change. expect them to know what change is required. when we never speak. we react. respond or cringe. we are so very rarely heard from in terms of initiating a discussion. or just saying something. sometimes i feel we fail as women to educate men as to what our needs and issues are. where the the complexities of the female experience lie. we are the first to draw back when that fine line between uncomfortable and must be said is so much as teetered upon.

dudes may or may not listen. such is the nature of life. not everyone heeds. but someone does. and that one is usually all you need. its true.

the next is just a thought i had. one sees girls here altyd. posted. and well thats a horse that done been flagged. done tried to run the race. and done collapsed in sheer exhaustion. and what remains are symbols. a horseshoe. the hope of some kind of good luck. the hope.
and today i wanted to share something else on women then. since we love them so. just under general information. to just add a little something not so sexy about what it means to be a woman somewhere. some people may know about this in depth already. i didnt. and i find myself so affected as to move.

because somewhere little girls are circumsised. and its the real. operations under primitive circumstances. no use of anesthetic. the girls are cut using all sorts of instruments. usually those available. broken gla**. knives. razor blades. scissors. sharpened stones and sometimes teeth. the number is in the millions. and its like no one knows about. or if they do its not some kind of a priority on our lists. myself included. one father in surburbia turned up the stereo to muffle the screams and cut his daughters genitals with a steak knife. apparantely the numbers arent decreasing. they are on the rise.  

and i just wondered. how many of my brothers. who hang with me. who sit and laff with me. grow with me. throw back a shot with me. could have this conversation with me. could fight this one. for perhaps your voices are needed.

perhaps sometimes the danger is the schism. this speaking in hushed corners. conditioned cultures. coz shyts not cool to talk about. when things like this are out there happening to people. and its maybe not a war. or a famine. the stock maket hasnt crashed dismally. its just little girls. daughters. being denied the right to make choices regarding their bodies and their sexuality. some cant pee properly. suffer all sorts setbacks in their lives. never enjoy sex. and some just die.

somewhere not far from here. this is an inescapable reality.

perhaps sometimes its not about women and men stuff. sometimes this 'stuff' is not about being a woman or a man. sometimes its just about our willingness to learn how to live. as people.  

anyway. i was just wondering. today.

okay. so dudes need to stop sending please call mes to girls. i thought i was the only one who had problems with it (wouldnt be the first time). until i overheard a complete stranger have a convo with her friends. bugged. like but why. like how. like explain. its bizarre just nje. but then it can get even worse. how you gonna be sending a girl a please call me. and you are the one who wants to get with her. uh. what. like are you being serious.

coz then some poor girl has all called back. on some a booty call. a please call me. you better believe it. so much for wanting ones money hey.

and the girls do it aswell. to dudes. and im like but. come now. lets all just like 'step away from the vehicle' - its incredible. i must call you. so you can then hara** me. i must now use money i also dont have to call you back. you who wants to speak to me. yes. that makes perfect sense actually. give me some numbers to dial.

it must stop. and now it might. looks like we've taken being cheapos to the next level. looks like its costing the networks and now they are getting all tired of being so kind (were they ever - like whatever!). but i suppose its not a day too soon.

its all this trying to make other peoples children look stupid when they arent.  

(this excludes the boyfriend. he can please call me all the time im sure :wink: )
