do u sample dude? coz it does add a nice touch to a song,, in a case where u cant play live instruments...FL packs are the worst u can get, and evry1 knws them..and they are easily identifiable....

another thing thats essential in making ur beats sound fat is ur VST plug-ins i.e. EQ, Compressor, Reverb, etc.. but i hear Reason 3.0 gat a mastering suite too now.. so u might wanna explore... nevertheless i liked the beat.

The first one is a drum machine software program and thats exactly what redrum is so u dont need that, secondly cubase doesn't come with a drumkits(samples), i think i know what u trying to do i use reason 3 alot also, first of all what hardware do u have so i can get an understanding of where u coming from

See the exact thing I want....I want my drums to sound more live...coz..no matter how dope the beats I've made its just being spoiled by that Software original drum kits....I've used...I want to create a dope quality sound...where a listener can hardly tell that a machine created it.

I use Windows XP Professional with service pack 2..
1Ghz Ram
3.2Ghz Processsor
120 Gig Hard drive..
and MIDI (ESI 49 Keyboard Controller).
I use sony headphones for quality sound..I want to hear sound pretty clear...so but that I would know exactly what I'm doing...

What sound card are u using ?

My setup Consists of

P4 2.8ghz
1 gb ram
250 gig HDD
80 gig HDD

M audio 49k Midi controller with faders and rotary controls
M audio Trigger Finger (for banging out drums, similar to an mpc)
and a shit loads of sounds.

I think the problem is u using the standard reason drums, am i correct ? u need to collect alot of different drum sounds, and on the mastering suite did u change the setting to hip hop/pop/drum and ba** ? cause if its set as standard the drums dont stick out as much. For getting a good mix i would recommend u get monitors cause headphones dont cut it

if u are going the hardware route its necessary to have an mpc for banging drums and if u are doing the pc/software route a trigger finger is the best when it comes out to banging drums, u can check it  out here

by extra sounds i mean stick away from the standard stuff and get other refills and samples to play with, its not that hard if u have adsl(hint hint)

u can get lots of free drums kits of the web, i'm at my work pc so i dont have the sites stored here i'll check later today, the trigger finger cost R2200, are those monitors active or pa**ive as it doesnt clearly say

f*** Drum kits, for every drum kit you got, 10 000 more kids online got that shit and making beats that sound exactly like yours, so that whole uniqueness of sound factor is already f***ed. The only way you can make best of drum kits is if you use multi and i mean, really muliti-layered shit or otherwise you gon sound like me, or him, believe me i can spot  most drum shots in a space of a second, like oh shit, thats from the Banging beats pack. , etc., etc. You might wanna consider sampling drumshots
(see Nastie Ed), this gives you such crazy sounds and what i've seen most samplepack drum shots sound to dry, it jus gives off the whole thing away, cats need to wet that shit like mafucca, i mean some serious saturations and reverbs. O.K, thats my 10 grand until next month, see ya mahfukkas when i come back from a f***en well deserved holiday.
