You mentioned Intellectual Property, yeah right i've done it in my legal career. it regulates mostly the desings, patents, copyrighs and trade marks, artistic work, and more.
I'm glad you've posted this, so we can have less biters and more creators, or should i say composers.
We need ideas to be reduced into black and white so they can be protected by intellectual property laws.

i would like know is it possible to protect a name/(brand)(just the name),so that no one can use it elsewhere. :twisted:

yes it is cold , there's ice on the mountain on the moment.
(notice how every capetonian is a weatherman)

on protecting your name.
i'm not sure but i use a creative commons license on most of my works.
check out the creativecommons.org website or just google it.
it provides flexible options in terms of how much scope people are allowed if they do use your work.

BUT....having a license and enforcing it are 2 different things.
For that type of info speak to more experienced people like DPlanet who is experienced in the biz as well as Killa black who has also contributed to this thread - he says he's doen legal.
I'm sure there are more heads willing to help if you ask 'em
