No Kings is dope, Tame One holds it down. I tried hating on El-P but I'm surprised by what's popped out so far. Lyrically he's bringing back something fundamental to Hip Hop- Letting motherf***ers know what's really going on outside of what the pop media sells us. To me that is another dividing line between this borrowed culture poprap shit and real hip hop.
It ain't about you, it's about what's really going on in the streets, hoods, nation states and world. f*** what you selling, what you telling? The rest is pop and bamboozlism. I think El-P lives up to that on what I'm hearing and for that much he's got my ear again.
