It is about freshness and access though. Every SA based t-shirt with flags etc are generally freebies from govt or whatever so repping your aunties department of labour shirt with a flag on the sleeve doesn't count.
In short, i know of at least three small companies trying to bridge this. I think people are only now starting to realise that it is ok to push an African identity down the rest of the world's throats, rather than the other way around.
Much respect to them local producers such as laugh it off who are very unappreciated. Shame.
I think 2007 is going to be interesting, as if it hasn't been already.
