well not necessarily..but Defsquad was formed as a deviation from the Hit Squad... which Erick Sermon formed with Parish Smith (i.e. EPMD) so when erick though parish was jockin him with the cheddar....he went as far to hire friends to go and rob parish's crib...while they were still together...so yeah for years there was animosity between Eric and Defsquad v Parish and co...but never i'm gonna kill u beats...although i think the whole robbery incident took it far enough

Prodigy and Big Noyd dissed DEFSQUAD on Man Down from Mobb Deep's Hell On Earth album.

Prodigy also dissed Keith Murray again on an unreleased song where he disses Tupac as well called "In the Long Run".

Other than that, like PeeWee said, there was a little Friction between DEF SQUAD and HIT SQUAD(Parish Smith,Das EFX, K-Solo).
