Earlier this year i posted athread called Know your worth.
I resigned last week because the new budgets have been announced at work and I felt overlooked financially by my greedy boss.

So they offer me a promotion but the money doesn't match the new responsibilities I would have to take on. She knows I love my job and she knows how well I do it but yet she still gives herself a fat raise and expects me to smile coz she gav me a "promotion." Evil bitch. Phuck that shyt.

Luckily I got an offer last week and I can leave with my head held high while they struggle to find some1 to take over.  They are gonna learn that Not every1 is disposable and U don't know what you got til it's gone - the hard way.

Now my question is how do I go about this leaving it all behind - without burning bridges.
I have built a wealth of contacts, strategies and excel sheets that makes ish run smooth. Anything we need it's a call away. Any mergencies I don't stress coz I have tried and tested means to rectify ish. Do I pa** on my contacts and techniques to the boss or do I leave them to suffer and realise just how hard I worked?

No brainer. Your contacts. Your techniques. You take them with you.

Obviously if any of the stuff you did is in public use (excel spreads used on a daily basis by your company) then you'll probably have to leave it. But your contact book is your own.

What's your line of work?

Well depands on what your contract says. If you are not forced to then don't.

I'm a content producer and production co ordinator in broadcasting. ( amonsgt a lot of other things )
Every thing I've done creatively stays, I signed that right away, they can have it but I'm reluctant about my little black book and with good reason.

These coporations just take - take - take. ideas are expensive and they want one to just give, give, give.

I should point out the obvious - if it really is a 'little black book' then it counts as your personal property. No corporation is entitled to ask you to hand over something as ephemeral as a contact list, unless these are contacts that anybody and everybody can use (and even if they are, so what? it certainly won't stop you from using them)

Methinks, you've answered your question already.

What you need to know is that contacts are and the exel spreadsheets are just that, all useless without someone who is pa**ionate behind them.

What's working is not the contacts or excel sheets: it's you.
So forget about everything you have come up with for them it's petty, plus it's good for your track-record and you're proud of it, right?

The only thing you should keep is a pa**ion project or strategy that they never supported.
Even then tell them you are going to use it.
When they stop you, remember, if you came up with it, you can come up with more and bettter...

Finally, concerntrate on the new (positive) gig and not showing (negative) them how much they need you!

You resigned because you don't take shit from anyone and not just to spite them.
Big difference!

shot guys thanks for the feedback.
It's just the newness that's scary.I'm still gonna be a content producer but for a different medium which should be quite challenging in the begining.
One gets comfortable and used to certain routine. 3 years doesn't seem so long but looking back it feels like ages.
I feel like I have so much to give still but I can see I'm not appreciated so it's ripe time to move on.

hey nat, that's effed up. keep your contacts - they are yours. i always do that as well. i made my contacts outside office hours and that is the reason they become my personal contacts and not contacts i made during office hours. but yeah, two of my boys left your organisation some while ago as well - told them to shove it and they've been begged to come back. the stuff you created you can always duplicate at your new job - there's nothing wrong with that. restraint of trade should not apply to that as long as it's not part of the primary strategy that the company uses to generate revenue.
My parents said i could be whatever i wanted, so i chose to become an a**hole
