Good_
- Good sound (without that, the rest is irrelevant)
- Tight, well-rehearsed sets
- The right amount of crowd interaction
- Interaction between DJ and MC
- Acapellas
- Tight freestyles
- Dance elements (depending on act)
- Live music elements (doesn't have to be instruments, could just be playing with the backing beats in Abelton)
- Visuals (not just some small little projector either)

Bad_
- Bad sound
- Shouting into mic
- Apologising for anything
- Bad freestyles (if you can't do it, don't try it - it sounds mad kak)
- Too much talking in between tracks
- Not taking backpack off
- Looking nervous
- Being drunk and thinking no one will notice

Good performers I've seen recently: Driemanskap, Rattex, Ben Sharpa, Max Normal, The Realist, Wordsworth, Sweat X

@mphossiblepunkstah and BalDi: I agree crowd interaction happens automatically esp when u are a well established artist and err'body knws your songs... but i will give u an example of what kind im talking, when Proverb performed that 1st, 2nd and 3rd track at the three kings launch he divided the crowd into 3 to say the 1st, 2nd and 3rd and that shit workd like a charm... And from personal experience there are songs that work better if the crowd is participating, so is it wrong to ask the crowd to help out with certain shit?

It's wrong if you use the crowd to hype up a dead performance/show.

this is a good thread, lots of info...the thing about track selection is true. The tracks have to blend well, and an intro to the set doesnt hurt. Better to start mellow and build up!
