Usually, I listen to the beat and freestyle a verse and take the effective lines that I spit and write down and build of that. It's crazy because if the beat is inspiring, I just usually blackout on the mic. I just don't write brick, chick,hip-I don't feel it's fluid enough ( not to knock anyone's technique)- I usually let the beat linger over and over again and hop on sonar and it's a go...

I write rhymes on the spot, i worx best underpressure, i go to a recording session with no scripts...

How is that cost effective? Preparation is key though.

first i gotta know my topic n beat , do some research if ish is deep.
figure out what the 1st 2nd n 3rd verse will approach de topic, then i rite what i feel

if shit is light,hook up a chorus n right when i feel like it
I rhyme in multiples n every 2nd line.

I love riting to a beat if its a club song, adawise the rest i dont need to, but if i got da beat i rite to it

I used to like listening to a beat first and then just trying to freestyle to it, while recording the free.

Afterward I would listen to the recording and take ideas from what I said in those and build around them. Came up with some nice stuff.

I also liked multis and experimenting with rhyme schemes a lot, trying to get it technically perfect.
