Just a question, i always come across african (or black) girls with these
cuts on their faces. I don't knw wat they mean cuz i guess i've been

i'm not that familiar wid cultural customs ova there. Should i be scared,

Its mostly from Eastern Cape families whose family values and behaviour are structured around  strong ancestorial beliefs. The cuts is done when a person is still young to protect them from evil forces.

What i know is that ppl hav those cuts for different reasons:
-some get cut wen they are bein introduced to the ancestors
-some for luck just before the exams
-some might be as part of a treatment for gettin rid of the evil spirits or thikolosh
-some its for protection

after they cut u, there's some medicine they rub into the cut...and its not only xhosa's, almost all do it...
