See, I don't get this.

I understand very little about finance and I couldn't sell a lifebelt to a drowning man, but isn't a chain cla**ed as a depreciable a**et?

If you're so into making money that you want it around you all the time in the form of a chain or an iced-out money clip or whatever, then surely you'd be smart enough to make sure that everything you invest in (and I suppose a chain counts as an investment) would make money for you?

Leaving aside dubious talk about how your ice will help you sell more records (it won't) how can something like a chain possibly be a good investment? I could understand if you use the Jay-Z/Rocafella method of hiring limos to do shitty little gigs and always making sure everyone in the crew is fresh to death (in that money begets money) but I'm not sure that works anymore.

A chain doesn't make sense. On any level. And let's be honest, you look like a f***ing retard.

I know people who make a lot of money selling drugs, and can't really just take it all to the bank, instead of having a whole bunch of cash laying around, they invest it in jewelry, cause the value doesn't really depreciate, it's a pretty safe investment. Hope that answered your question.

I like Ghostface "Sun God" chain, and the Gucci chains from back in the 80's are making a big comeback, Ricky D got some nice jewelery, and Gucci Mane's Bart Simpson chain cracks me up, Loso's "Word is Mine" chain was pretty ill, and I think it was 50 who had the chain with the iPod in it, playing his video, that shit was funny too. How about Juelz Santana rocking his adlib around his neck with the "A' chain. Yeah not really my focal point, but some cats get really creative with theirs, these guys is who's doing it www.jacobandco.com/

How about Grillz? they rocking them in S.A.?

The origins of Grillz in the South dates back way before 2005 and still tippin', it actually dates back to Slavery...

Quote from: HipHopDX
During slavery, slaves were of course denied quality dental and vision health care plans.  However, on rare occasions, slave owners permitted rudimentary dental surgery to be conducted on their chattel.  This, of course, was reserved only for the most valuable male slaves, those that an owner could not bear to lose to death caused by infection related to tooth decay.  The slaves that received the dental work often had copper, tin, or sometimes bronze fillings for cavities and replacements.  The metal in their mouth became a status symbol denoting their value to the master, and their superiority to the average slave, i.e. the more metal, the more importance.  Showing one’s shiny “grill” became a way of notifying others (slaves, masters, etc) that you were important, and ultimately not to be messed with.

Its a culture that black people have adopted. I understand why it would make no sense to you.

On the other hand, you might have a point! Black people do embrace a lot of retarded shit.lol

Me personally, i love me a chain man. first thing i did when landed in the city of gold was "cop me a chain n sum fresh clothes" - that was like "my long walk to Blingdom". It gave me a good feeling. Do what makes you feel good and live your life how you want to live it.

and watch MTV ;)

read what i said after the post Robert.
ANd it is a very valid point i made as well. Indeed there are certain things that black people do that will never make sense if youre not black. No offence intended. We are all open minded here
